I need some opinions

Low looks good on a backhalfed car.Myself i prefer the nosebleed look:grin:

I'll be 60 in two months and remember the same with the Chevys and Fords but the Mopar guys were able to screw the torsion bars up easily and usually did for the level lifted look.
Around my area just outside of Houston, the majority lifted the rear and not the front. Only the real serious guys kept the back end down....

I like it low. World is full of jacked-up chargers! It says "low-key, all-business" to me.

nice ride. I would have to see pics high and low to make a good judgment. It does look good the way it is in those pics. I like it!!!

Car looks great, and might hook up better sitting lower. Is it a 4 link car?

I think it looks perfect and agree about protecting that oil pan! I recall the Air Shocks and Gasser look as well but....it isn't the younger guys who liked em low, as there were a lot of lowriders from the 50's thru the 60's, many lead sled Mercs and loads of early Impalas and customs. Mopar Muscle of the 60's and 70's have always looked awesome in the Super Stock stance. But lately I have seen a number of them being dropped down now with 18" & 19" wheels filling up the wheel wells nicely...with stock oil pans.

Looks good sitting either way. If I was racing it, which it looks like you do, I would go low. for Street use, raise it back up to save the oil pan.

where did you get your hood?

Wow, thanks for all the input. Yes it has a 4 link and this is a street car. I do run slicks on the street, never know when someone wants to play and here in Milwaukee, WI we play for some serious $$$$$$, so i have to be ready . The car is only like 2 inch's lower then in the first pics but like I said thanks for all the input.

Looks like a bad boy all hunkered down like that. And as others have already said, you will (should, anyway) get better traction than azz-high

The bigger the rear tires, the lower the car should sit. Emulates tube-chassis cars the lower they go. Also, as stated, helps w/ weight distribution.

Now for my honest opinion - the car looks outdated, not nostalgic, outdated...like built in the who-cares-about-the-80's outdated. Street racing is f'ing retarded, and it's proven you don't need that much tire to hook at the strip, so the whole setup is really a waste.

Guess you could say I'm a 'younger guy', but if you're looking for a 'back in the day look" going higher isn't gonna get you that - unless you're talking about 80's Hot Rod Magazine cover cars.

I'd put it back the way you had it before, if you actually plan on driving it,the first driveway you hit you're gonna lose your pan!

is it gonna be race only?

I was not saying it was the RIGHT thing to do for maximum E.T. only that the higher LOOK was what we saw back in the day.
If you look at the other thread I started about suspension height you will see that the suggestion by Dick Landy was to leave the rear pretty much stock height.

and the Cool New Guy Award goes to... someone else.

Wow. So there's an award to blow smoke up someone's ***? That's a pretty funny come back, by the way. You're a comedian, right?

He asked for opinions. I gave mine. If there's a problem w/ that, maybe 'opinion' threads should not be allowed. You're not a commie, are you 'HitIt'? Wait, just noticed you are in California...

What's really funny is that I don't see any smartass comments directed to those who criticized the oil pan clearance, so what is unique about my post?

Sorry 696, but I see very little/nothing of technical value in that link. Esp w/ respect to a 4 link car.

To the OP - I've looked through many of your posts and not found it, but what are the specs on the engine? ET?

It has NOTHING to do with a 4 link. The original post of this thread is about what others like about the LOOKS of the car, lowered or jacked up. My comments were regarding the look back when these cars were new. My LINK to the other thread about suspension was regarding what Landy had to say about jacking car suspension around and how it effected it for racing in stock and Super Stock classes. Nobody was really discussing 4 links in this thread.
