Has any of you guys ever used 440 Source for parts. I'm going to be putting my 440 back together and I need to order some parts but I have never used them before.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks 440beep, I tried it and got no matches. It was nice of you to offer help to a still new member on this forum. And we wonder why this hobby is dying.

I had good luck with them, in the 4-5 times i've dealt with 440 source. Orders were always correct and the couple times I spoke with tech support, they were courteous and helpful

Good luck.

I have found them to be helpful and on time as well. Every time I open a box from them I am impressed - good looking stuff. I didn't use their engine internals, but used their stuff all over the outside of the engine - timing chain cover, water pump and so on. My old-school machine shop guy was quite impressed with the parts too, and I don't get the impression he is impressed very often!

Got a ton of stuff from them, all good. One thing I learned fast was to order as much as you know you want at one time, the shipping will get you if you make multiple orders all the time lol

Well, my experience is you 'get what you pay for'. They may have good customer service, but their part quality is below standards. If you are looking at cheap, China sourced parts to go on your American hot rod then go ahead. I have purchased every part twice that I have ordered from them, meaning I order the part, and must re-order again from an American brand a few months later as the part durability and quality is terrible for a car that is street driven. Any part will last on a show only car though, that gets pampered like a newborn baby every time it leaves the garage :happy8: Don't even get me started on how many issues people have had with their water pumps and cylinder heads... What people will do to save a buck, it really goes beyond me. Engine kits are fine though for the most part.

For my current Charger project I bought several items from them including heads, 6 quart oil pan and pick-up, dipstick tube, and a water pump housing. I have heard from many that their water pumps are not great, so I bought a Mopar unit and put it on their housing. So far everything is fine and went through the dyno session with flying colors. The one gripe I do have with them is what they charge for shipping - way overkill imo.

Amen brother i had a bad time with them on a water pump housing and when i called them the PUNK that works there was rude and acted like he know everything about mopars and was very unprofessional he even said i must have done something to it.I will never use them again period i buy all my stuff at Summit or mancini racing or ebay or a company my friend uses for like oil pans & items such as those its called Southwest speed & Muscle motors or Kmj Performance someone like that just my opinion not saying these places are perfect but they have never treated me like a jerk like 440 Source did They had there chance to make it right they blew it so now other companies get the money and i have stopped at least 10 mopar guys local from using them after we talked ... :)

Reviews seem dependent on what you buy... Their water pumps and from what I understand water pump housings are both poorly designed from the reviews I've read... some other items seem ok... They seem to sell a lot of stealth heads value for $$ but I know then those get re-fit with American Made valvetrain for those that want a better result

I'm still seriously considering buying my pulley's from them.... It's either that, powdercoat or paint the one's I took off my 383.... I imagine I would pay to powdercoat mine for what it would cost to buy aftermarket aluminum so tough call there

I've got the entire front end kit for my 440 build of which I used the P/S pump, the pulley, brackets and bolts. They also give you belts, but I did a search on the brand and they're Mexican made belts with some bad results, so I opted for Gates belts instead. I had my own Powermaster alternator so I used that instead of the 440 Source alt.

Oh yea, I also got my pistons from them and stamped inside is "Ross" so assuming they're Ross pistons.

I purchased a set of platinum series rods from 440 Source for my engine and the transaction with them went very smoothly, so I can't complain about that part of it.
I looked at several brands of H beam rods before the purchase and most all of them were made overseas, china most likely.
The ones made in USA were out of my budget, pure and simple.
I went with the 440 Source rods as they are 100 grams lighter than anything else out there, and my goal was to lighten the rotating mass so the engine can rev better.
The quality looked nice and the machine shop was impressed but I have not fired the engine yet so I can't say yet how they'll hold up.
Seems to me everyone is getting ripped off by excessive shipping charges now, Mancini Racing and Hughes Engines are a couple examples of the worst offenders from my experiences with them.

Beating on their 500 stroker kit every weekend. No problems yet. Whats american made anymore? Please tell.

I used 440Source for things like pulleys, timing chain cover, timing chain, 7 quart oil pan, roller rockers, engine fasteners, and probably some more stuff I'm forgetting - all with no problems and I drive my car on the street all the time and drag race it as much as I can - so it's no show poodle.

I've never encountered any attitude when talking to them on the phone, maybe because I don't call them with an attitude? Once they even exchanged some pushrods I bought for them that were the wrong length (not their fault - my fault) well past their 90 day return policy and they were cool about it.

Right now I'm saving for some of their Stealth heads. I'll probably try them with upgraded hardware and a performance valve job.

As far as the made in China argument, yeah it's a nice sentiment and I wish things were different but that's the reality of how things are right now and no amount of me or you boycotting things made in China is going to change that. Take a look under your keyboard before you type your reply and see what it says. I bet it says "made in China". See if you can find a keyboard, computer, or smartphone that doesn't rely on cheap off-shore labor to make it. It's impossible.

I went with a FlowCooler pump on my last buld and used under driven pully's with an aluminume cross flow rad. Never had a cooling issue !
