OK my brothers and sisters, what was the factory setup for a 69 383 car with a 833 transmission? My car now has a 440 and it's time for a clutch, pressure plate and TOB replacement.

A 383 would have come with the 23 spline.

23 spline,unless it had a 6 pack or a HEMI. Only then would it be a 18 spline trans.

A 383 came with 23 spline.
I'm really sure that any 440 or hemi got the 18 spline. In 66 and possibly 67 the 18 spline was a small bearing (307). 68 got the 308SG8 bearing but the gears were the same. Then in 70 I believe the change was the 2.44:1 ratio.
