What are your thoughts about putting the Plymouth 1/4 panel decal on anything other than a superbird?
I like the look, but not sure about it on a 69.

Not sure why? but
I'm Not a big fan of them on anything they didn't come on originally...

to each their own, thou, just my opinion or personal preferences...
not my car

Plan on putting them on the 69 Satellite! Black lettering, canary yellow paint. Surely would look awesome!! It may not be a bird, but it sure will fly!

1/4 decals

Don't know if this will help ya but it'll give you an idea on looks...i saw it. on another Savoy and liked it but having second thoughts.......only cost me 35 bucks and they simply peel off if you don't like them........got them in satin black...........I get mixed reviews.............Jay

I saw a set on a B5 blue '69 Barracuda I looked at in Bournesmouth, England in the early '90s. It was a RHD car with a 318. The decals looked good on that car.

I think they're like every other detail item on a car... if they're done right they look awesome! I put them on one of my 73 Roadrunners back in 1985 and have put them on all my cars since. The quarters of our car are a LOT of real estate that begs to be broken up by something, and the Superbird Plymouth is sized just right to do it. Plus the font makes your car look like it's moving when it's sitting still. What I don't like is the use of smaller Plymouth callouts as they don't look right and don't break up the quarter as much. I saw guys back in the mid 80s use those a lot since you could buy them through Direct Connection for about 1/5th of what repop Superbird decals cost from Year One, but the smaller ones just never looked right.

Get actual Superbird decals, put them at the right height, and for heaven's sake get them on straight and they look great.

JJ426Savay the Plymouth decal dont look bad at all on your car. I am not a big fan of it but I agree if done right it dont look to bad. Ron

Thanks Ron........i still can't decide if I'm going to keep it........I'm loving the wedge hood scoop in light blue but I'll see come spring what happens to the letters.....jay

There are two different sizes. The larger size is on the Super Birds. I like the smaller one on non SB cars.

I've never liked the smaller letters, but I really hate is when the letters are crooked. That just looks horrible!

I'm really a purest. By that I mean things on wrong year car things really bother me. mostly color changes. EG Plum Crazy on a 69 RR, but the plymouth 1/4 decals have always looked cool to me. I haave a buddy that ran with them for a very long time on his Y2 69 RR. I think it really looks like something that would have been added by the guys in the early 70's.
I think I have a pic on (my friends cars) page on my site, but I'm unable to open it for some reason. www.sixpacksuperbee.homestead.com

i put some black ones on a Bahama Yellow 1971 Roadrunner back in the 70's. I liked them, but when I sold the car the first thing the new owner did was take them off. His previous car was a Ford Falcon with leaf spring shackles.
