Hello I just joined the forum. Hoping to be able to learn some stuff from others here cause the car is sort of a basket case. But a really solid and straight southern California car.
Thanks! I've been searching through all the pieces and the only trim I'm missing is the fender emblems (coronet 440) the trunk piece across the back and the trunk medallion on top the deck lid. Anybody have any of these or know where I can get them? Thanks!
Good luck finding a nice aluminum insert, I've been looking for some time now with no luck. Driver quality pieces show up on ebay from time to time, but I haven't found a show piece yet and probably won't want to pay the asking price when I do. Trunk medallions are somewhat more plentiful, but not by much and the prices are ridiculous! I have a couple of driver quality pieces that I found over the past year that you may be interested in, but they aren't cheap.
Parts for the '65 are much harder to find and considerably more expensive that post '67 parts which is what all my other cars have been, but WTH, it's only money ... :shruggy:
Welcome :newbie: Looks like a good start. I have a '65 500, so you know I like the car. Good luck with the parts search. Unfortunately I don't have any extra. Mine is a decent driver and probably always will be.
I'll be sure to update the progress. The car was an unfinished project from the previous owner. (It came with 16,000 dollars in receipts lol. His loss is my gain) it came with an entire new interior a 440 fresh from the machine shop bored and decked a set of 915 heads with a port job and 2.14 1.8 valves also fresh from the machine shop new pistons and everything. And it came with an entire 1968 chrysler 300 2 door thats low miles (440) and runs but is pretty rotted out. He originally bought it to use that engine but now it will just be an extra. Needless to say I have my work cut out for me but it will get done and I'll post pics.
I have a 65 Coronet trunk medallion but only the ring, don't know where the center plastic piece went. PM me if you are interested, make an offer and its your.
The coronet is getting close to being ready for the rotisserie. And this is the 41k original mile 68 chrysler 300 that will be donating it's 440 for the project.
If they saw it in person they'd understand why it's being parted out. the rear frame rails are rotten the floors and trunk are all gone and the front and rear windshield frames are all rotted out Plus lots more everywhere else. Although the doors are still really solid. I'm sure I'll find somebody In need of them.
