Car Batteries

I'm running Interstates in mine...the one in my black 66 has lasted over 11 years now

Most wet cell batteries sold in the U.S. are made by only three manufacturers, Exide, Delphi, and Johnson Controls. NAPA batteries are made by Exide and I've had good luck with them. Also Interstate batteries are pretty good. I don't think I would spend the extra $ on an Optima for a daily driver because I don't think it will last much longer than a well maintained wet battery. The only reason I have an Optima in the Belvedere is because I know it won't leak.

I agree. I just changed out a NAPA battery in our old 96 Chrysler this year. I looked at the tag and it was 10 years old. Some kind of record I think.

Not for the hobby car but the daily driver. Whats the opinion on the best car battery on the market?

The ones with a 'cast-iron' guarantee for 2-3 years....just take it back when it starts getting tired and get a free replacement. :icon_winkle:

Have had a Duralast in the DD for almost 5 years now, No problems.
Problems with Exide in the past.
Good experiences with Interstate.
Hear of Optimas failing too often.

east penn = deka....or visa versus.....great battery made in PA

FWIW I bought my 2005 Dakota new and am still on the original battery, that's a little over 10 years now, and still seems to be going strong!
I used to buy the correct style batteries for my classic Mopars but now I buy Mopar batteries right from the dealer. I'm getting very good service from them. I've been told they're made by Interstate.

At the risk of being cyber-shot. And not to the point of the thread..... I have a Lexus as a daily driver and I swear Im replacing that battery every 18 months and debating with them on warranty. Who ever makes Lexus batteries is junk. The car is great. Made in Japan so the battery probably was too.

Now don't you feel good I passed that info on to you all? ✌
