Hi Everyone,

Along with my new 15" rims, I will need to buy new tires. I plan to go with RWLs, and I've narrowed it down to the Cooper Cobras and the ubiquitous TA Radials. The Coopers seem to have a better tread pattern and last longer (based solely on the manufacturers' ratings) but everyone seems to have TAs, at least at most of the local Mopar shows I attend.

If anyone wants to comment on whether/why you prefer one over the other (or another RWL tire), I'm all ears...

Thanks

image.jpgI like the Coopers. They smell better when frying. I shoved 295 50 15's on a stock 8 inch wheel on the 69. But it is a Coronet. No rub. TA's I had years ago seemed slippery but that was on a POS Passat. See you at the Sac show on the 27th. Try to dial ambient under 100 for the day.

I've got the bf goodrich's, I've been very happy with the grip and wear I've gotten out of them. I bought them because have had issues in the past with cooper tires and everyone seems to love the bfg's.

See? Opinions are like...

I have Cooper Cobras. Awesome tire. I've had them for about 3 1/2 years. Done countless burnouts and still have a quarter inch of thread.

My buddy bought new BFG's for his chevelle and they wore down in half the time I had mine. I would definitely recommend cooper cobras. for half the price they last twice as long. Ebay sells them the cheapest.

They're both quality tires and I've had them both, but I prefer the pattern and look of the BFG's.

Well here's my :booty:

I would also consider Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T. I like mine, and reportedly more grip than BFG T/A. (Of course only important to those that buy tires to grip the road - as opposed to converting into smoke).

I'm running the same tires and like them very much!!! 225 on the front, and 275 out rear.

price of $320 for the Coopers is hard to pass up

I like the BFs but I wanted to burn some rubber. So I went for the cheaper option. I think they look and ride OK. 8-23-14 wedding-24-2-X3.jpg8-23-14 wedding-28-X3.jpg

I love the Cooper Cobras
But: BFG just came out with a RED LINE tire this past month
A red Line!

I have Cooper Cobras on my Gremlin
BFGs on the Hemi Superbee but going with Cooper Cobras

As I have mentioned before, not many tire manufacturing companies are producing tires for our muscle Cars anymore.
Its all this new 18", 19", 20" stuff....
Just saying...

A BFG Redline? I haven't seen that. Where was that shown at? It wasn't from Coker tire?

I bought my Cooper tires in 2013. When I put mine on I had people ask me why I didn't have BFG like everyone else. Well I wanted to be different. Now I see more older cars with Coopers on them

Thank you to my fellow FBBO members for your responses. I will probably start with the Coopers; they probably won't last too long....for the usual reason!
