Related to my post on rebuilding the front suspension of my GTX, I have ended up with a set of PST poly bushings and stock rubber bushings for my leaf springs.

The car is a drive night cruiser with full power and air so improving the cornering is not as high a priority as a smooth, well-dampened ride. So from those who have tried poly should I go with the rubber bushings?

Thanks

I put poly bushings in all my cars, even my daily drivers. My 65 Sport Fury has had them for over 30 years. I put over 100,000 miles on a set in my 79 Volare wagon (daily driver). I don't see a down side to them.

I'd go rubber just to avoid any squeaking down the road. I'm a big fan of poly bushing but only in an application where they can be easily greased. Now, if you added a zerk fitting I'd be on board.

I installed new leaf springs from Springs N Things they came with rubber, so I stayed with rubber for the shackles, I don't see how much difference it would be after all it came that way from the factory and back there you would not notice much difference up front I would recommend poly for sway bars and body bushing since you put a large amount of stress when cornering and braking. I put poly in my 73 Charger, the stub frame, sway bar, torsion bar rear brace mount and the strut rod bushings all poly, big change there over rubber ones. The upper and lower control arms are rubber for easy alignment.

Never had the squeak everyone talks about and mine aren't even polygraphite just poly. I like the poly better than the squishy rubber myself but to each his own.
