Has anyone restored a dash for a 69 Charger, or any Mopar, without the dash pads? I'm curious how that would look and also would be a little cheaper since the price for new dash pads are outrageous. ANY ideas would help.

That's what I was thinking also. I'm really not a huge fan of the way they look with the pads. My resto won't be a numbers matching anyway so I'm not too concerned about keeping it 100% original looking. I think I'm going to remove them and paint the dash and see how it looks. I was hoping someone has a pic of what it looks like without them.

I know it's not a 69 Charger but here are before and after pictures of my 63 Fury. Pads look good in picture, but they were both cracked. Welded up the holes and painted it. I like it much better.

That is a cool console. A lot different than my Charger dash, but I like it. I think I'm going to do that also. Remove the pads and then put a coat of paint and see what it looks like. If I like it i'll weld up the holes and repaint like you did. Thanks for the pic.
