I don't think the 205's look that bad

I'm planning on 28's on the new car but it will have 17" front wheels. The 28 on a 15" just looks straight out of 1980....

That is the nice thing about personalizing your ride. Build it to your preference. Here the Hemi GTX sits on 18's & 20's. Certainly gives it the new look. Many mixed opinions with the larger rims though. Often it's said, why did you ruin a Hemi GTX with those rims! Because I can.. Haven't heard that with 28" rubber on the 15s though.image.jpg

Looks good! Like the stock rim with the caps.

very true! I don't dislike the look, it just looks old school. I like the steelies look and I like the more modern stuff like what you run. I like about everything with the exception of the steep rake airjacker position.

Agreed Big Hemi. The person that wants both height and narrow width is limited when it comes to front radial tires. I'm not sure what tire is on this Challenger but the full fender well sure looks good. View attachment 307775
Those look like 29" tall front runners to me. See a lot of the 29" fronts on stocker class cars. I know M/T makes a 29" tall ET Front. Those almost look like an old pair of Firestones? Trying to read what's on the sidewall...

Here's 29" Moroso front-runners on a 4" Cragar S/S. I've had no issues with them over the years, though not DOT approved.

What they don't make 215/75/15's anymore.... If you can find them there pretty close too 28in tall.

I used that size tire for lots of the "ballooning" looking front-runners over the years. They always rode and wore well.

Thats the good thing about your own ride is you only have to please yourself. I cant lie as I love the old school look and am not a fan of bigger then 15's on the old muscle cars but thats just because I like what I grew up with but I wont knock anyone for building their car as they like because its their car and I know we all dont agree with what I like or someone else likes. But we all like the muscle cars and can enjoy the hobby and have fun with your car built the way you like. Ron

Yes that's when I had my first one and the look I had on it. I would have put 15x10 & 15x4s slots on if I could have found them, still might.

I'm with Ron, anything bigger than 15s just doesn't look right to me. But everyones different.

My roadrunner had the big n littles with the 28 or 29's on it in 1983 when I got it. Cragar SS with 3 bar 'spinner' center caps that the owner kept. It was all jacked up with air shocks, slapper bars and green shag carpet in the trunk! It looked mean to a little 15 yr old buying it, but I think I've moved on to more modern racing looks and performance. To each their own which is what keeps it interesting!

I believe he's looking for the traditional drag-car look. The guys who have 17" front-runners and 15 rears with slicks....have cars that look like Harleys with a 21 and hog wheel.

After I add the hog wheel I'm going to carbon fiber hydro dip everything on the car! Then it'll be a ricer hog racer........J/k lol.
