Im going to go look AT a 1968 dodge coronet rt CONVERTIBLE that is local and for sale. I haven't seen it yet but was told it running driving car with an old lacquer paint job. Its a 440 4speed, Dana, convertible, AC car. Of course its dark green. Any ideas what the value would be??

I am not up-to-speed on pricing, but a real RT convertible with a 4 speed must be very rare...and very desirable. I like the these cars a lot...I would be irrational...I wouldn't hesitate to drop $12k in a heartbeat on it unless rust has destroyed its structural integrity. If really rusty, then maybe $6k. I wouldn't be buying it to flip it.

We all look forward to seeing pictures of the car.

I will say this. If it was a solid driver with a half decent paint job and #s matching, I'd be closer to the 15-16 range (but that's just me). Hope it pans out for you.

there a several sites on the web where you can get those prices. Hagerty is one I have used before.

Great car, condition is everything. I think the estimates so far are on the light side. If this is a good original car w/ numbers matching and some documentation it should fetch some extra $$$. With only a small amount of cars out there it's hard to estimate. Pay what you feel is right and want to afford.

Do you have pictures? What's the asking price?

I've seen several factory built mopars that didn't exist, according to all the info and experts.

Here is an example on eBay at 40K

I think I have seen two of these on eBay recently, both with a 40K price. One was green.

I've had a difficult time trying to understand the pricing of these cars. Just about everything I've run by this forum comes back as grossly overpriced and near junk in opinions, so I am anxious to hear what the opinions come back on your find.

That Coronet's not a bad looking car in pictures, but there is so much wrong on it, where does one begin? The closer the car is to stock, the more it is worth and that car is too expensive as it is to tear it apart and start over.

For that kind of dough, you should be able to get a top notch "H" code 383 Road Runner or Charger. Top notch "L Code" code cars can go 50-65 large depending on the model & options.

You've been looking for cars and asking opinions for a while. You have to decide what you want, what your budget is and what condition you expect it to be in.

Are you going to look at it this weekend?

I'm going to go look at this car Wednesday. Everything I have read and heard says if its a A\C car it must be an automatic or if its a 4 sp car it would not have A\C. So now that I know the A\C or the 4 sp was added whats a 20 footer, 440 4 Sp, Dana convertible driver worth?

15-25. if it's not rusty. Check the rockers real good.

$18.5k since it has been repainted in the past and it probably needs a new top too.
$20k if it has power front disc brakes, rallye dash, power windows, less than 100k miles, and has a clean interior.
$22.5k if it is a one- or two-owner car.
Other Caveats:
(1) numbers matching body, engine, tranny.
(2) it is a 4 speed factory car and the A/C was an aftermarket add on.
(3) not rotting from rust.

Good luck. Look forward to seeing what you find out.

I agree, we know all the parts existed. It's odd to me that the '68 data book says no ac for 383 2 bbl or 440 with a 4 speed yet we know you could get 383 4 bbl with ac and a 4 speed.
