The car has all body matching numbers, radiator support, trunk lip, trim tag, door tag and dash VIN, but the dash VIN is missing the year 0 (for 1970) in the VIN. There is just a space, like it got left off at the factory. Has anyone heard of that before? How common/rare?

Definitely cool, and I suspect rare....but we're now gonna want a picture of that.

The title has the 0 on it and so does the sticker on the drivers door. I will post a picture later today.

That's cool, looks like you have a genuine factory **** up.
I've never seen anything like that.

I agree - looks like a factory error.

My suggestion is to be VERY CAREFUL with the dash tag and do not mess with the rivets or the tag itself. When I cleaned and painted my dash frame, I was careful to not mess with my VIN tag at all. I merely carefully masked it off. It has a scratch in it and is far from perfect, but I figured this way no one could state that it wasn't correct and original. With a special situation like yours, I think that is all the more important.

Just my $0.02
