Looks great.
The last thermobog I had backfired on a hill, caught the hood insulation on fire and burned the car down, was in a 74 Chrysler new yorker.
Keep a fire extinguisher handy
Crazy thing was the air cleaner was on . I didn't know it had caught fire until the smoke and steam fogged up the windshield . It actually kept running too.lol either keep a fire extinguisher handy or keep your air cleaner on
I am curious, as I noticed the throttle valve rods for the primary and secondary don't have the green Teflon anymore, so were they recoated and were they bushed on both sides so you don't get any air leaks there? Also, it looks like the air valve and choke valve are painted, are they or are they coated with something? Just wondering because if anything was painted its going to dissolve or run when fuel hits it!
If this isn't out of line, can you let us know who did the work? I have a couple of TQs that I would like to have rebuilt, and have been looking for somebody who knows how to do this properly for a while.
Moparnutcase and Darter6, thanks for the information. When the time comes, I will be contacting the people you identified.
