Read in paper Connecticut withdrew from a 5 state group discussions about charging you a tax on miles you drive! Must be a first, question is why? The answer the republicans made gains in legislature. In Ct for the first time in years the state senate has the same number of Dumbs and Republicans.

That's just another revenue maker! Toilet paper usage is next.

Maryland and Pennsylvania have credits for the distance you drive to and from work yearly.

I thought they put the extra tax on gas. The more you drive, the more you burn, the more you pay. Now the they want to double dip by taxing the odometer also? What the XXXX

A tax on what would make the largest scream.
go to bottom of post.

Tax on Kotex or Tampons!

This is one of those unexpected consequences from government mandated higher fuel mileage, plus, those freeloading electric cars are paying zero road tax. Tax the **** out of them & leave the gas drinkers alone.

What Connecticut giveth with one hand they take with the other!
Saw in today's paper they will put tolls on highway's (assume limited access) in 18 months! Don't think it's law yet but in Ct just wait a minute. Said the gas tax wasn't bringing enough and highway fund was low! Well if they stopped raiding it for crap, special busway that doesn't pay for itself. They are building RR stations and other things for a rail line from New Haven to Springfield MA. This came from the HIGHWAY fund. ARGH!!!

A train from New Haven to Springfield ought to be a reeeeaaal money maker.

Electronic tolling is the newest cash cow scheme for states to extract money from motorists. They are relatively cheap to put up and there is no inconvenience and traffic jams that toll booths create.

Already being done in the trucking industry. We are required to file quarterly report's to record our mileage, gallons purchased and states traveled. On 140,000 miles per year I pay approximately $20,000 in fuel and road use tax.
