Been on the hunt for another pup since the accident with Samson and found one today:thumbsup:. I was dead set on a Mastiff but the wife had other plans... I've always liked short haired Labs so I'm cool with the compromise. He's a little tank. May not stack up to Samson but he comes from 2 beautiful and great dogs. 2 weeks before he comes home.

Congrats ! Kids look happy.

Nice! Labs are great!

I think it'll be a great option . . . if you don't get the Mastiff . . . had my Yellow Lab for 16 1/2 years, very smart, very loyal, very loving . . . should be a great fit into your family . . . AND they LOVE water ( as long as you're not giving them a bath - never understood that ) . . . so he'll be doing a lot of swimming, I'm sure ! ! !

This is the one thing that has me concerned, with 2 ponds very close by I'm afraid he'll always be soaking wet and to stinky to come in? Hopefully he resorts to the creek where he'll at least get cleaned up instead of sticky.

Keep a hose near the back door!!! If Theres water he'll be in it....brown, green, clear, flowing or stagnant it doesn't matter.
Congrats on a great looking dog... My yellow made it to a ripe old age of 19...pretty easy to train, just have to be consistent...

Oh, and your arm is going to get good and strong as you throw a ball for them for hours . . . and hours . . . and they fetch it and want it thrown again ! ! !

Use to sit in my backyard and set up a bucket about 30 feet away - and try and throw a tennis ball into the bucket, if I missed, she'd return it . . . if I made it, she'd return it . . . ready to go again . . . LOL

One of the best breeds that you could have chosen to grow up with the kids! And your kids are just the right age too:thumbsup:

Congrats.
You will certainly have your hands full for the next year. Labs love water, and all things dirty.
But they are affectionate just like your last friend and hopefully you don't mind playing fetch. Lol

I'm a sucker for pups, going to be a long 2 weeks waiting on him for sure. Hopefully I can turn this one into a garage dog, Samson hated any air noise and would seldomly come in.

How big do they typically get? The mother looked like every bit of 80 + lbs.

cool looking dog for sure.......my kids at that age would have been fighting over who is holding him for the pic.
