Hello again & welcome!
Someone will be along to help you and ask for pictures of your project(s) soon!
Have any pics?

This will be a long term build. Gonna get it media blasted and then primer so the cancer will not continue. And just do what I can with some patch panels

I work for Pasha Hawaii and come to sand island on a regular basis.

Oh cool. Yeah I wanna know what options to take I do have a 383 that I want to rebuild with the 440 kit and then add an EFI and AC. Or just get a gen 2 viper motor from X2 builders comes with every. AC wiring harness and trans. So what would you do? The x2 guys sell the viper motors for about 9-8 gs

Welcome from North Carolina. The Viper motor would be different, but you can easily get that same power from a B/RB block with a lot less headaches. IMO

Yeah, I was thinking of upgrading the 383 to a 440 and a pro charger. But it’s all about budget. The viper motor comes with trans AC compressor wiring harness. I would have to do alacart lol. But what’s your thoughts? What route would you go. And keep in mind a reasonable budget

Welcome!

My wife and I were just in Hawaii celebrating our 30 year anniversary. Great place!

As far as Viper engine vs. old time big block: I am focusing on your statement "Keep in mind a reasonable budget". While a Viper engine is cool, there will be many other items that will likely have to be modified to make this work. Those other items can add up quickly. While I suggest you look at the build Kiwi posted, examples off the top of my head may be steering components, cooling, transmission tunnel modifications, dash and gauge modifications, fuel mods to support fuel pump, etc.

You can easily make great power with an old fashioned big block. You can even take your old 383 that you currently have and stroke it to almost 500 cubic inches for around 2 grand (rotating parts only. See http://www.440source.com/strokerkits.htm). So based on a budget, I would say to stroke the 383 you have, maybe add aluminum heads if you can afford it. Then bolt it in and go!

Whatever you choose, bet of luck with your project - keep us posted.
