You could re-cam it & get far better low end or torque #'s too
a different or modified intake/induction to bring the peak usable RPM's down,
more street/strip user friendly... If that's your goal...
Not knowing exactly why or what your trying to do & achieve...
This is the racers hangout after all
I'm sure they really weren't made/assembled with specific parts
to putz around under 4000 RPM, think outside the box,
change a few parts, it can be done !!
I'm sure they were made/assembled to be used at WOT
{wide open throttle} most the time, like most race engines are
But there's more than one way to skin that proverbial cat...
The engine is still just an air pump, like any other engine is,
it doesn't know you're not running NASCAR, rework it a bit,
make it fit your needs...
If you're still gonna' race it
a drag race style cam change & springs retainers etc.
would do wonders, the heads will still flow great, you can still make power...
They aren't a very long stroke IIRC...
considered a Small Block 358ci is what they usually run {IIRC}
something like 750hp/540tq is an Infinity series style
a-typical "lower compression/carbureted combo" {?}
The big boys combos are 15:1 compression more like
9,500 RPM 900+hp/650+tq remember it's a short stroker
They are light, like 500#'s {or less} complete...
The Mopar R6 P8 engine was like $13,700+ 6 years ago...
I saw one just freshened up, for sale for $8,500 recently
750hp/540tq
There's a guy on Mofarts that has a bunch of stuff for them
P5 something or other is his screen name, I don't know the guy...
Not sure about parts availability for anything other than roundy round stuff...
But; I have no experience with them...
I was thinking of picking one up a while back too...
I just had way too many B/RB parts already...
