Hi guys. I'm looking to put redline tires on my 68 Charger, but somewhat limited to what is out there. I'm currently running a 245/60R15 on the car now. Picking the brain of the guy at the local tire shop, he thinks a 235/70R15 would be my best option (for what is available in redlines) in order to get closest to the width I have now, but he said going to the 70 would change the stance. Is there much difference on the look from 60 to 70? If so, would it be best to stay close to the 60 and go with the 215/65/R15. Thanks!!!

A few years ago I talked to a guy in cali who had a red stripe added to his drag radials. They were much bigger than anything available as a repop redline, and they looked really good. Sorry, I don't have the info anymore, but you might google search and see what can be done to the tires you have, or who can do add-on red lines. I'm sure there is somebody out there.

also, for what it's worth, he had a factory m-code 69 440 dart. It was profiled in Popular Hot Rodding if I recall correctly. yellow out of socal. [that's what the redline drag radials were on]

Comparing BFG Radial T/A Sizes:

245/60R15 = Sect. Width 9.8" ; Tread Width 8.3" ; Overall Dia. 26.6" (Present Tire)
235/70R15 = Sect. Width 9.3" ; Tread Width 7.0" ; Overall Dia. 28.0"
215/65R15 = Sect. Width 8.6" ; Tread Width 7.1" ; Overall Dia. 26.0"
225/70R15 = Sect. Width 9.0" ; Tread Width 6.7" ; Overall Dia. 27.4" (G70-15 from '68)

Since you want redlines, your options are very limited. The 225/70R15 BFG Silvertown from Coker Tire (GR70-15 in Firestone) are probably the closest to OEM tire size, if that's the look you're going for.

Looks like an interesting option, with sizes like you are presently running.

I know a few guys with red lines from diamondback, they look great.

Looks like Diamondback will be my choice. Thanks for the help guys!!
