ok i know this will have been done to death, but im stuck between a rock and a hard place, due to import tax costs and shipping so here it is.
oh and 70% race 30% road use

need new headers, currently using hooker, as i have destroyed the drivers side by catching it on the trailer (another story)

so due to living in the uk, i have to import everything which adds around $400 (import tax and shipping) to whatever i buy so i need to buy the best buck for buck hp, at the best price

TTI by far are IMO best fit/quality but will stand be at around $1200
hooker super comp, not best fit nor quality imo around $700
Dougs im not sure of as i only know gasser guys running them $1000

or
summits own brand ceramic coated again unknown for $600
any others you recommend????

prices are approx inc shipping and tax to me

any help please id appreciate this, as im stuck and dont want to seemingly waste money

What car?

There’s a TTi vendor heading to Carlisle Pa. that’s offering a 10% discount, not sure of the name.

If for your avatar ?
I have gone to the Dougs d452 headers . Fantastic fit and access , i have a RB 505 . Had hookers , man are they a pain fit wise especially RB .
Daily driver / bracket racer for mine .
I hear your pain on tax and shipping .
Dougs sre 2" and dont forget 3 1/2" collector . They have fitted with straight and angle plug heads on my motor .
I run a 68 Satellite

Get some tubing and repair it. Not as hard as you would think.
Doug

So you aleady went the cheaper route and now have to do it again. How did that save money?

These are Hooker (discontinued #5302) under chassis 2 inch tubes).
No tubes go thru the inner fender like Hooker #5209
Have Flowmaster 4-2-1 collectors.
Paint flaking and a few dents.
$400 US plus the ride.
Were in my 67 Belvedere and Coronet previously

they have lasted 5+ years and were with the car when it was brought across, so for what its worth
cost me nothing. So this will be my first set of headers for this car.

car nut : for my 66 440 coronet
and considering im in the UK i cant get there to buy them

I have brand new in the box ceramic TTIs for a 426 hemi I’ll sell for $500 plus shipping if they can work.

Doug's, Schumacher, or Hedman. Schumacher = TTI; Doug's and Hedman less expensive. If money a driving factor, get the Doug's. If not, Schumacher.

I agree with Tex. I have the SAME Dougs headers, 2" primary tubes and 3 1/2 collector. Solid as a rock and great fit....plus makes more power than 1 7/8 headers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Buy these Dougs headers in plain black painted finish. WAY cheaper than ceramic coated. You can sand blast the black paint off the headers after you get them and paint them with silver VHT and they will still look real nice.

And the trick to painting headers is light coat of paint. If its on to thick it will burn off and you’ll say, wtf it supposed to be for headers!

OK, just checking here....
My 1st thought is what dvw says & see if you can find someone in the UK to weld in a new piece(s) of pipe & repair what you have. That is by far the cheapest way to go. My 2nd thought is....Do your Hookers have "slip tubes" (primary header tubes that slip into the collector area)? Did you just bend up a "slip tube"? If yes, then I believe Hooker sells INDIVIDUAL tubes, so you could just buy the tube you need & slip it in. If you smashed the collector area, that won't work.

ok welded up the tubes, and tried to pull out the flattened spots, its ok for now will work for this weekends racing

thanks for the replys guys looking into schumacher ones

Just an FYI to help other that might see this.
Advance Auto Parts online usually has a 20% off coupon floating around.
I got my ceramic coated Dougs D452s for a little over $600 to my door.

take your time find someone over there to build a custom set for you. i agree with Doug build or repair with some new tubes. just the cost of importing them should come close it having them made. just my 2 cents
