timing chains

what timing chain r u using? looking forward a little as my machine shop installed my milodon gear drive wrong,#13000....they did not set the lash correctly on the gears..before drilling the block for the dowel pins..cam gear is set properly but,not the crank gear..0 lash..drags on the idler as the cover is installed and removed..will call milodon tomorrow for consultation..i believe the dowels r so u don't have to worry about lash after the fact and still can run it but....who makes a timing cover gasket that does not require sealer? cometic?

You should be asking your machinist how he is going to make it right. It is HIS problem, not yours. That is what he pays insurance for.

I agree..I called them just before closing time to let them know about the problem...its an extremely rare block...2406730 426 marine block bored .010 over..with scat/diamond internals..stage 3 max top end..solid roller..BUT.I have to deal with it.so whats the best timing chain to use/strongest...and anyone using cometic gaskets with no sealer..

I have a SA Gear double roller with Torrington thrust bearing. It’s billet cam gear and keyed crank gear for retard or advanced timing.

they made it good today..bought the drive from me.full price, plus all labor on my xtra '64 stage 3 426 max wedge motor that I'm getting ready to flip.. switched to cloyes race roller timing set..I had the AR aluminum timing cover on the shelf,will use it instead..milodon said that the only way to correctly rectify the situation is to weld up the holes and start over,,wasn't going to happen.
