Not classic car but our everyday drivers.
I like many have been in a rut, 12 yrs same company, never shopping around.
My wife and I both have good DMV records and good credit rate.

anyway I told my agent to shop around and see what is out there. few days later he gets back to me and said we had a good deal now and just stick with it.
So I call another agent that I know through our shop from customer work.
The guy saved us a hair over $300 per year , everything is the same as far as coverage and deducts. New company has a A++ rate and we have experience dealing with them from the shop end.
So shop around guys if you have not, you may get a nice surprise.
Now I am going to shop around on our home owners policy for both places.

auto and home insurance are one of the biggest scams calledmy agent and got the same bullshit now I am going to check out that US veterans company to see what there like

Geico saved 33% no BS.. in NY seems like nobody can match them.. changed about 10 years ago and my car insurance went from $1500 to $1000 for three cars.. changed after 23 years with State Farm.

Is that for the minimum liability? Still a good deal for NY.

Yeah, but don't have an accident, they'll Jack you up to the stratosphere. That's their game. Lure you with low rates. Then, put in a claim ? ZAP ! Now, you're paying much more than you would've with your last company.

250000/500000 ... never had a ticket or accident in 50 years ..paying $618 for one car today (a 2012 car), full coverage ..replaced a couple windshield over the years, but never had an accident claim, so we'll see when it happens.

Its important to have enough insurance, 250k/500k should be the norm for anybody with any assets. Theres alot of ambulance chasers out there.

I've found that car insurance "creeps up" every year, even when you have no tickets/accidents and the car gets older/less valuable (daily drivers). I've been switching insurance carriers back & forth between two companies (identical insurance) and seem to save $30-$50 every time vs. staying with the current one.

I’m not much of an insurance shopper - what with being in the business for 35 years. I just took 15 minutes and saved a couple of hundred bucks by going with GEICO for the DD. Didn’t keep the money - instead did what I should have domemyears ago and bought an umbrella policy with the savings. Now I have $1.3m over all my cars and the house. Pays to be well covered if you have assets of substance. It also pays to make sure your insurance is extended for decent limits on uninsured/underinsured coverage. I’m involved in a suit right now where the driver that plastered me had low limits and my policy is having to pick up part of the freight. Check your limits on all coverages. Cheapest isn’t always the best.

My father owned an insurance agency and did quite well .
That being said I had Statefarm for over 25 years my father sold his agency to one of his partners and I stayed with them another 10 years also never ever missed a payment .
When he retired all the rates went up with the new guy and I never had any home or auto claims .
I asked him to check he said that's the best didn't even check.I called Allstate and saved 1500 dollars combined a year so I switched . They have disappearing deductible and I'm down to 200 now on all .

They lure you in and in 2 years it's time to shop again.Staying with the same company for years does not mean a thing. They could drop you in a heartbeat.Cheaper is not always better!

I check around every two or three years and still can't find a better rate. Everyone says "Yeah we can't touch geico in NY", for some reason. esurance comes close but not any lower than what I pay, the others are way off. Put my home with geico and lowered my home insurance by $84 a year for the identical policy. It's another racket based on what might happen, and also paying for other drivers mistakes I guess.

My friend has a Body shop. Fixes collision cars. He's always fighting with the insurance companies to
fix the customer's cars the right way. It's always a fight. Insurance adjusters are "Damage Control Specialists".
I ask my friends how they like their insurance companies and they say, "Fine". Just one hook, they never had
a claim. When they do, they find out that THEY have to pay for any extras. Insurance company lobbyists
give more money to our politicians than anyone else. For a good reason. State Farm got a Judge elected for
their own purposes and got caught. Now everyone is trying to cover it up. Sorry, I hate insurance companies.
You should too.

Same ****, just told my broker to shop around and send me quotes they said I have good deal now just keep it. Called Allstate myself and saved $600 a year, called my broker and fired them.

I have always had to carry full medical coverage on my auto policies. My union insurance required it and now Medicare does also. I have been with Auto Owners for some time now and when I had a electrical fire in my wood shop they coughed up over $12,000 no problem. I have also had 3 deer/car totals on my comprehensive clause with no issues. I like my agency.

Just shopped for home and Auto. Same deal, found I was paying too much. I think these companies lure you in and then slowly raise rates every year and hope your not motivated to shop. I’ll be re-evaluating every 5 years now at minimum.

If you mean USAA, I checked with them and they had a great rate, until I saw that it was a 6 month price. I had Erie for years and was a pretty good rate until my wife got hit and then the price went up. Seems that I was protected (price wise) until I had to buy another car, then it was at a new rate. I ended up going to Liberty. I think they are all the same, give you a good rate and slowly increase it until you wise up and shop around again.

If you have classics and daily-drivers...........Grundy MVP. We dropped AAA and Hagerty, added 4 cars, and saved over 3K. They insure all of our vehicles, including my trailer. Bikes....you're on your own.

You’re not in good hands with any insurance company IMO, they all will try and pay out as little as possible on a claim.
