Can you convert any B-Body Mopar to a Charger?

I can't see why it would be more expensive, the cheapest chargers in my area are $15-$20k and I would just be replacing the same parts as I would be considering most of them are rust buckets.
see:

As for your original question, just remember that Dodge and Plymouth had different wheelbases, the Plymouth being an inch shorter.

These guys are correct, you'd have a boat load in it. You'd have to buy just about every available piece of sheetmetal plus source a lot of other things$$$$ Find a Charger, bought mine for $3,500.

Just keep looking decent deals come up have the funds ready and available!!! I bought my bb 383 4 speed 70 charger for $10000 running and driving needed resto and 1/4s but everything else was very nice?I drove it a bit too. They pop up !

Simply put, you'd have to have a Charger to make another b body into one. There's quite a bit of parts unique to a Charger, so you might as well start with one.

I realize what you are saying about Charger prices. As it happens though, they are still out there. I happen to be scanning craigslist for the Indianapolis area and there were at least 4 Chargers on there in various conditions, and they weren't as expensive as what you're saying. Just keep looking. Being someone that had to replace most of the body on mine.... Trust me! Start with a Charger! As someone said above,.. many components are specific to a Charger.

It would help if we knew where the OP was located rather than just "USA".

Doors and fenders are easy to swap - but the back end of the unibody is unique for both the 68 and 69 chargers - so cut / weld in new quarters, etc. - basically the whole back half of the car.

Just buy what you can afford. Go for a Satellite, Coronet, Belvedere. Wagons are cheap and always get a lot of attention at the cruise nights these days.

It’ll give you the same feeling as you drive down the road.

What's your budget? At the risk of being called an asshole I'm going to say if you can't afford to buy one, you can't afford to build one. Why? Because unless they are a special car - like a hemi or an all-original mint barn find - they generally sell for less than what the seller has in it and you're way further ahead to buy a finished driver than a car that needs a full resto. If you found a decent complete Charger that needed a resto for, let's say 15K, you'd probably sink another 45K into it before you were done. You could buy that same car, finished, for 35K and be driving it instead of dicking around with it for the next five years.

As long as someone gives those prices for rust buckets...the prices will stay waaaaay high. My 2 cents!:poke:

good Lord..and he cant even be bothered to Wash it??!!
this is what our hobby has fallen to....this is why new people cant get into chargers anymore.
that thing is a pile of carp and he wants 21k for it....

Notice there are no bids on it. What people are asking, doesn't mean that's what they sell for. Problem is that if everyone that has one thinks they are worth that, there's no way to buy one. I guess it comes down to how badly people want to sell them! That, or they unfortunately rot away into nothingness!! :(

Last week?
Your right but I still see them well below 10K and some under 5K, you have to remember I don't live in California where everybody knows what they're worth. Even a basket case Charger would be a better starting point.

Looks like they just dragged that outta the swamp, sheesh! Swamp Thing for sure. I don't get why people let these all go to hell and not get rid of them before they get to this point.
