Automaker to impose speed limitation on vehicles

It's nothing new
I had a 1994 T/A GT 25th Anniv. 25 years ago
that was limited to 105mph IIRC
a little reboot at the dealership it was good to about 149mph
still computer limited too, it'd fall on it's face & rev-limiter
sucked

my 99 Dakota SLT 4x4 (& my 99 Dakota R/T) had a speed limiters too,
the Hypertech tuner took care of that :bananadance:

My old Ford Aerostar shut down at 90 mph, right on the mark according to the digital dash. And we're talking 28 years ago.

I don't believe I have ever seen a Volvo going over the posted speed limit.

There was one volvo called a bertone that had a turbo charged 4 cyl with intercooler. That was a fun car.

Volvos a piece of s”’t anyways

Im sure there are some, but once upon a time they were one of the safest, and most heavily painted (to prevent rust) vehicles on the road, which goes a long way towards explaining their older clientele in the late 60's and throughout the 70's before they became the yuppies choice.

What does "Bertone" mean?? Ive only heard of the Fiat model..... Is that a coach company, such as Dual Ghia???

Volvo's electric car is called a "POLESTAR"??? Last time I checked, a pole-star was something completely different.

Dad's Metro shut down at 85 mph... come to think of it I'm pretty sure it just couldn't go any faster lol.

I guessin people in Germany won't be buyin Volvos now!

My BMW is governed at 155. I got it to 142 and it was still pulling. HARD. I think it would blow past 155 easily

Yep...Volvo's are one of the safest vehicles to be in, if you're gonna smash up your car.

Not so good if your wife is cheating on you though.....

Bertone is a styling company in Italy.

The Fiat X 1/9 is a Bertone job as is the Ferrari 308.

Their main competition was Pinin Farina, also of Italy.

Yep.

I watched a lady hit the side of a moving train at about 50, she hit and bounced back slightly. Ran up to the car and she was fine, the windshield didn't even crack and both doors still opened.
