1970 Plymouth Sport Satellite from Junk to......

Yeah...Spill it.
Hey KD, Well I was looking at a complete car. PS, PB disc brakes up front, AC. I didn’t know the extent of the rust in the roof until I got her home and peeled off that crappy vinyl. The trunk would be relatively easy if I used a pan replacement. But every panel will require a significant massage. I assumed I would also be able to get the 318 going without to much trouble (wrong read later as I have not yet gotten to that yet in the blog).
I bought it with all that in mind and paid $3300. Seemed like a good buy but I now have a lot into it as will be seen in future posts. I have not been able to do a bunch of the work so thats why I got some significant money in it now.

ikr i was scratching my head wondering what he was talking about ugly lol !!
car looks like it has great bones, even if it needs a roof skin.
Its solid for sure no rust under the car at all. Passenger rear quarter was hit and needs some metal work as well but not bad.

From what I see, you are doing alright. It is a popular body style and you have a LOT of enthusiasm for it.

Fiend, didn’t everyone start out with Chebby’s? Waiting for updates to come. ‘63 327 Impala then 64-1/2 small block Falcon and others! We are adaptable!!!
Nope Mopars all my life

Interior update. Slow work on the drivetrain and I need to catch this thread up. I am starting the interior and roof panel. So lots of previous bad news and hard times calls for some good news. Look at these 50 year old floors! This was one of the reasons I bought the car......good bones! There was a lot of glue and in some spots there is still red carpet stuck to the floor but no rust at all anywhere!

Ok so I decided rather than posting my questions separately in specific forums I will fold them in here to make this more of a build and progress series and make this more of a complete build thread. I still have a lot of content to catch up on here and I will weave that into this as I move forward.

I can not find how to remove the metal inside trim piece in the FSM. I removed the screws but the painted steel piece is not moving. Anybody know how this piece comes off?

Gently pop the clips holding on the door card. You will find some screws on the bottom of the metal part you are trying to remove.

Perfect I thought the cardboard panel comes out last. But what about that thin metal strip?
Joel told you and then I showed you with a picture. The panel comes off FIRST and goes on last. The strip you are pointing at is exactly what I showed and stated that it holds the upper in place.

Getting old sucks......

I like this car, you don’t see many Sport Satellites anymore!!it looks like a lot of fun, I wish you many hours of happiness as you work to bring it back to life.

Well passenger panel is off thanks for the help guys. I wanted to be very careful in disassembly as the parts are very fragile. Can’t believe they used cardboard type materials in them lol.
Well I now know why the window didn’t go down all the way lol. See it?
