I'm looking for anyone who has used a "Right Stuff" front disc conversion kit on a 65 belvedere. The spindles and caliper brackets were already mounted when I purchased the car. I installed the calipers the way they were marked (L) driver (R) pass. and the bleeder valve was facing down to the right. The instructions says the bleeder valve "must" be pointed up...so as instructed I swapped the calipers. The bleeders are up now, but at full turn the caliper hits the shock. It states in the instructions that the calipers can be mounted on the front or back side of the wheel...to do that I need to remove both spindles (and brackets) to swap them. I just don't want to do that and then find the calipers hit something else or the flex brake line doesn't work that way.
Is anyone running a "Right Stuff" front kit with the calipers on the front side of the wheel? Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Terry

I have factory disc brake components to change my drums on my 65 Belvedere. To clear the factory sway bar, I plan to switch spindles and caliper brackets to opposite sides so calipers will mount in rear when I rebuild front end. I hope that works. Also interested if this is the right way to go.

I just installed that kit on my Satellite. I have the calipers installed on the rear for now. Some folks complain that the supplied brake line works better with the caliper on the front. The bleeder must point up in order to bleed the system. This might be why you are having interference issues too.

In order for the calipers to face the rear with the bleeder pointed up, the spindles need to be swapped side to side and then the calipers also. This will give more room for the sway bar if equipped.

Not sure why he's got interference with the shocks. Maybe it does that suspension is hanging?
