Trying to figure my fender tag...but it has some maybe conflicting information. I beleive this to be a BB400 with 2bbl carb. Fender tag says BB400 and 383? Its the E63 code tripping me out. Here was my best guessView attachment 862170 View attachment 862170

In 1973 E63 is the code for a 400 2 bbl. Up to 71 or so, it was also the code for the 383's. So, as the year is 1973, you have a 400; 383's ended around '71 Not sure what you were using to decode, links do not work.

My best guess

V4x- is canopy vinal top/ black
The H codes are Ms
M26- wheel moldings
M-31 belt and hood molding
M-95. Assist handles
28- 28” radiator

Agreed. Last year for the 383 was 71. It looks like they carried the E63 code over to the 400, which was the the replacement for the 383.

The code E63 changed to 400 2bbl in 1971. In 1971 E65 was the code for 383 4bbl. I can't say this is true in all cases, but I have seen the E65 code in 71,with my own little peepers.

Thanks for all the information guys. You rock!
