Started on 71 Charger R/T roller today.

The firewall and engine bay are very solid, this car has real good bones!

It took some time to round up all the correct brackets and hardware to assemble the nose ,but I was able to do so! You can see the difference between the 71 hood latch assembly, and a 73-74 Charger hood latch assembly. There is a notch where it meets the radiator support crossmember on the 73-74 hood latch assembly.

Started mounting the fenders after I put all the correct bolts in the door hinges, and mounted the upper fender support brackets to the sides of the cowl.

The next chapter will either be the Ramcharger hood installation, or the upper control arms, and disc brakes. Most likely it will be the hood since I have already found the hood hinges for the car today I

This is where this Charger R / T starts to regain it's original glory! This car is a real N96 Charger R / T! No bs here, this car is the real deal! If you have ever had the pleasure of installing a hood on a 71 Charger by yourself, it's just like being a one legged man in a *** kicking contest and losing badly! I had to call in some serious help! When it turns to crap call Jack!

Were you happy with the AMD hood? I want to convert mine to an air grabber so bad. What paint will you paint the magnum emblems? Going to be a nice roller for someone!

The AMD hood is a very nice piece. My friend Gary let them use his original mint air grabber hood to template it from. It would need to be blocked out,but is much straighter than most of the hoods I have gotten from them. The Challenger rallye hoods needed quite a bit of body work in the depression areas in front of the scoops to make them straight, I don't see those issues with the Charger hood. I usually use Testors red model paint on the emblems, it is very close to the original color. I hope someone will buy it and build the car,it has really good bones. I am hoping to get my other 71 Charger R / T home to my shop from my friends house soon. I have to make room for it.

Once I get the full quarter panels fitted and Dutch panel fitted this car will be very solid. Someone put Tabco 73/74 quarter skins on the car and sectioned them to fit the 71 Charger years ago, back when those were the only rear quarter panels available for third generation Chargers. They were very crudely installed, but the new full AMD quarter panels will completely resolve those issues. The trunk floor and trunk extensions are mint original pieces and 3 of the 4 floor pans are nice too. Someone already removed the drivers side front floor pan,and I have a brand new floor pan ready for the car.
