1968 Charger

There are more out there. At least you have a shot if he changes his mind.

This is exactly why cash in hand and get the car outta there is always needed. People flop in 15 minutes and change their minds a thousand times. That is why its so hard to buy these cars with loans and such because people change their minds like socks and regret **** and get "higher offers"

In the early 80's I missed out on a 70 Hemi Challenger for 5500 because I paused on it. It wasn't a steal but it wasn't a bad price either and was a pretty nice car. Thing is, I asked the guy if it was ok to wait until the next day and that I would know for sure early on. Let me sleep on it other words and he said ok. He was within 10 minutes of where I lived and when I called him at 9 am, he said he had sold it.

This is why I say, bring the cash, and close the deal, if you give them time to rethink things you lose!

You are so right. I was excited but not anymore. Will see.

Ouch. I've done that too.

Go over there with the cash, and close the deal! Show him that you are a real buyer.
I agree with this. Show him you are serious and go over there with a cash offer. He could again change his mind very rapidly. Tell him about how you think the fact that you knew the car as a kid makes it special, etc. The worst he can say is "no" or "wait".

Less typing, more buying:D

As Tuco said in a famous spaghetti western:
"When you have to shoot...Shoot! Don't talk"

I have a similar story and you can get this one for $20k if the ad isn't a scam. They didn't respond to me, but give them a try if you are so inclined. The car has been advertised for about a month.

My story:
I believe this car is my old assistant manager's car. He used to live about 4 blocks from me when I was in Richmond, circa 1970s and the zip code listed in the ad is correct for his last known address. He was the original owner.

I've been looking for this particular car for almost 10 years. I knew he would never sell it while living, but he
passed away in 2018. This is the first time I have seen the car advertised.

He was a super guy by the way.

That looks way too good to be $20k. Must be a scam, if not it's a mega bargain for someone and will be sold in 5 minutes flat.

Well, there are a few people that are totally oblivious to the classic car market and even how to use the internet. I have an older friend that couldn't even find tires for his '61 Lincoln; google was a mystery to him...

Might be, but Richmond wasn't the mecca for Mopar muscle cars when I lived there. It was infested by tons of Chevy guys for the most part.

Is it home yet?.............we're waiting...................
Sorry not yet. They left for the lake today till the 27th. Said he'll call me. I hope I'm wrong, Ithink she might be gone. I stopped in to visit him Sunday afters, I don't know how many years. We got around to his car and he said he still had it. It was in a back, dark garage under a cover. He said he had it sold a couple years ago for 15,000 but the guy returned it. He quoted me 10,000. I was blown away and couldn't say yes until my wife seen it. We went and checked it out the next day, Monday and he was out driving it before we got there. We said we would like to purchase it. Now he said he would have to ask his Son who is 37. Trying to put together $15,000 cash and a response when he does call. Wish I would have had all of these replies before I met with him to make the deal. This car has a history. I remember when he got it, when I was 14 in school. He would park it next to the playground and I would always eye it over. And he was a real good shop teacher.

Now that is nice.

Even if you could get the green one for $10k, you'd be saving money in the long run buying the yellow one for $20k.
