Helping a friend put new engine and front lamp harness in is 70 road runner. There are several extra wires that where not in his orginal harness. I took pictures hope you guys can help?
One is the dark blue wire going by the coil
Then there are three wires coming fro. The front lamb harness has this two wire plug that is open by the firewall and goes to the grill area with the same type of plug! Also in that same harness is a single wire take a look!

wire harness are made to cover many different options that may or may not be on your engine. The 1st photo seems to be for the original distributor which was equipped with a solenoid rather than vacuum advance. Obviously your distributor was changed out at some time and the wire was probably cut back to the alt. field connection. When I 1st got my '70 charger that wire was hanging in mid air over by the back of the alt. I looked it up in the service manual and that's how I found out about the original distributor which my car no longer had. I cut it back to the alt. field connector. The wires in front look like connectors for '70 charger hide away light doors. The 3rd picture I'm uncertain what wire you're concerned about, but if everything else is working properly you probably don't need it. Hope this helps. I see you are from Coram,ny. I also lived in metro ny area too. Good Luck

The new harnesses now have all the wires for all options,I installed a new one on my Bee and it had 5 extra wires that did not go to my car. Bought it from YEARONE and I think MH makes the harnesses.

Thanks for help. The third picture is the double wire against the firewall. It's the other end of the wire in the second picture. Like you said its probably for 70 charger headlight doors! Yes I am central Long Island!

on forward lighting harness you definitelly got to 70 Charger ( or maybe MH harnesses is making a generic harness for any B body instead get made specific models ). On 2nd pic its shown the ground for the hideaways motor and the motor plug... on 3rd pic is the other end of motor plug to be plugged to an extra harness which goes throught the firewall, coming from the hideaways relay down the dash.

the 3rd pic shows also a single wire plug which is for the Starter relay ground, coming from NSS on transmission

1st pic on engine harness seems to be a signal for some iddle solenoid control unit, most of them used on 6packs cars
