Went back to the trusted and true method of hanging plastic for a paint booth with great results. Thought I'd share this for others who do their own painting without a booth.

I picked up a cheapo 12'X 20' carport from Harbor Freight, the tent frame makes for an excellent, quick and easy booth... just duck tape 2 12'X50' plastic sheets to it and your done.

Do you use anything for air flow through your booth?
That's the downside right now, I'm still in the process of wrapping up the addition where I'll do my painting so not at the moment. Once it's done I'll rig up a panel with filters and have a wall mounted exhaust fan on the other end (it's also heated with a radiant floor). For now just to get this truck done I'm picking nice days where it's warm and dry then leaving the garage doors open and only doing a few pieces at a time. I sit outside while I'm waiting to do the next coat and keep the floor wet, seams to be working.

Careful drawing volatile paint fumes through a fan with a center mounted direct electric motor. The sparks could set off a fire.....

I've found a few fans made just for paint so no worries there.

I in the past used a furnace fan and ducted it into a bucket of water. That way the water caught any overspray.

Good idea, I'll be exhausting close to where my tractor is stored outside... Don't need no rainbow tractor lol. So did you just aim it into the water?

be very cautious of static. Ive seen these make shift booths go up in smoke. Ground your car with a booster cable to the floor. Just be safe.

super nice job.
I'm just picking around,but
Do I spy a gravity indicator?
I ask because they are my specialty. I tell my wife "that's how I know I have put down just enough".

Just call me "Eagle eye"
I'm only good at spotting them because they are my arch nemesis. And I'm just picking with you. The job you have done is amazing. Love the color.

Up by the seam on the cab. A little run. Not a big deal. An easy fix.
LMAO, never heard a run called that.. Yes sir, the next day when I pulled it out into the light and gave it a good going over I spotted 3 of them, 1 absolutely identical to that in the exact same spot on the opposite side and 1 along the edge of the rear window.

It's funny when people like my dad come over and spot them like it's a horrible thing (granted nobody wants runs) and don't understand the big picture. I told him I could give a rats *** less about a couple runs, the clear is flat... Sand and buff 3 runs vs sand and buff the whole cab to fix orange peel.. I'll take the runs.

We are of the same thinking. I'll block a run out in a heartbeat over sanding out orange peel. Any day.

Hey wait a minute..... where are the pictures of the make shift paint booth with mods?!?!

Since you paint I've got a question for you. I've always been told that when painting parts separately suspend them as they would be assembled on the vehicle because it will affect the way the paint lays? Basically they're saying if I were to paint the doors laying flat (in zero gravity mode lol) when installed there would be a noticeable pattern difference in the metal flake?
