lost my best friend

Very difficult to lose the one's we love and care about. My condolences for your loss. I'm sure your buddy would want you to continue on with the things that you shared together, Mopars! Grieve but continue on head up and when you think about him smile and mash the gas pedal. 440'
when you think about him smile and mash the gas pedal
440, thats an awesome quote, he would always tell me he would get a woodie when i opened up the dumps on the 440 and hammered on it to pass him.

Sorry for your loss brother......thoughts and prayers sent your way.

So sorry for your loss. Just attended a funeral of a friend's daughter and it was somewhat of a surprise too. She was having health issues but her heart is what got her and it wasn't related to the other issues. Getting a sudden hole in your heart is never easy. Prayer goes out for comfort and healing for the family AND friends...

We had to put our oldest cat down Monday.

Not dealing too well with that.

Perhaps they are on adjacent steps on the stairway to heaven.

So sorry for the loss of your brother...sounded like someone I would have loved to meet! Wish I was closer to join the muscle parade!

It sounds like you are going to have to step up to fill his shoes. There's going to be a big hole to fill with his family. I wish you well and the strength to do it. Let us know if we can help. I checked the mileage on Google it's 1180 miles from me. If it was closer I'd be there.

Sorry for your loss and prayers of comfort for all of you...
Man if I was even within a couple hundred miles I'd join that caravan.

Ron,

thank you for that, the members here amazing . your story is not too far off of mine, Todd and I were born at the same hospital, delivered by the same doctor 2 weeks apart ( he was 2 weeks older than me ) , we met in the 7th grade . like you we expected to have another 20 years together, were are both 52.

its hard because they will not do an autopsy because of covid and there was no suspect foul play, they say either a massive heart attack or an embolism. so we are left with out an answer, but I guess it really doesnt matter how, he is still gone, and no results can change that.

I remember one day years ago, we were just hanging out, and out no where he says to me " what if we are really two old guys sitting on the porch reminiscing about this and were really not here right now ? " I still think about that.. we were supposed to get old and go around together pissing ppl off with our loud cars and loud opinions .
To expand a bit on my bud Ralph from my earlier post (my intention is some camaraderie with what you're shockingly enduring) we later found out he had been looking long for a job when he got out of college having a hard time as it was during a recession. He was so glad he finally came upon a job…it was the one I left to take a job with another company. Didn’t know each other yet. I got to know another guy who was a service rep doing work with the place I went to and we struck up a friendship. He later went to work with a young fast-growing company and kept asking me to take a job with the place he was at. Despite the appeal, I didn’t move and who took that job? Ralph! As things evolved, they had another opening and as my co was closing down, I took that job. Who ended up being my boss? Ralph! The guy had great leadership abilities even as young as he was just great to work with becoming friends. Well over the 15 years (several of those when he was no longer my immediate boss) we had to do all sorts of projects together going around the country and later went through some horrendous crap together – corporate politics – and that shitstorm we weathered together. When this happens it’s an opportunity to find out who has your back and who doesn’t. Ugly chit. People you thought you could trust, were friends selling you out to save their skin. We stayed tight.

Anyway, as you nicely described about your dear buddy, yep, there’s something much deeper, special, how people can click. Don’t think it happens often. I have some other super close buddy’s I’ve known since grade school and we are today. But Ralph? Just something on how we connected so well even when we were in disagreement that was unlike with anyone else. He could be pissy at times, well ahh yeah, so could I and when he was peeved a few times, I’d bust out laughing at him ranting on something. He’d look at me with a frown – then he’d bust out laughing. Not to write a novel here, I’ve started, sorry, I’ve kept having dreams about us in one predicament or another. Those have dwindled but out a nowhere return for whatever reason even after 10 years…one I remember vividly: He said just like he would as I knew him “Hey, don’t worry about me, I’m doing just fine.” Like to think he is, just like your close bud.

When opportunity arrives, I will ROAST THEM in his Honor. Uncapped. Then, raise a glass. You have my word. The Earth will shake as he smiles down. I’ll do my best.

Prayers and condolences to you and the rest of his family. Words just don't convey or do justice...
but he was blessed to have such a good friend/brother as you. This much is obvious.

I am also sorry to hear of your loss.
"...there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother"
Proverbs 18:24
I'll send some tire smoke his way also.

So sorry for your loss my friend, my best friend and I don't talk too much, but every time we meet or speak feel like yesterday when we last meet, he told me that he trust me more than he trust his wife and so did I, he is my brother and that's how we speak to each other, like brothers, a bond between two man is something a woman will never understand, be there for your friend every time he need you, expecting nothing in return, sit in a couch not talking for hours to each other drinking beer eating nachos, one of the man's best experience in your life only with your best friend, am sorry this bond happen once in your life time, but rejoice with the fact that you have him in your life, cry, scream, break something, is OK, you lost a brother, but without a question you will drink beer together in the other life.
