Can you adjust the cable without removing the shifter from the console, adjusted cable transmission end ? car still drives in neutral and all gears. Thanks Nick.

Yes. The adjustments are at the transmission end. The proceedure is spelled out quite well in the factory service manual. I did mine a couple years ago. I am not near my manual currently, but perhaps someone else on here could help you with the specifics.

Been some years but iirc you need the pan dropped to actually see the rooster comb in action. The park lock is pretty positive and should not let the car move irrespective of other adjustments.

Yes even at idle wheels turn kind of rapidly car is on Jack stands?

As KryslerKid said, try the adjustment, what have you got to loose? Driving the wheels in neutral sounds like a problem, but now knowing the car is on jack stands maybe it's not... If you step on the brake then release the brake do (A) the wheels start right back spinning at speed? Or (B) slowly start spinning? A is bad, B is normal... And it's possible A can be fixed by adjusting the cable, but I wouldn't count on it...

I did look at the link and yes I do have fat fingers with no syndrome.I THOUGHT THIS SIGHT WAS CREATED TO HELP PEOPLE WITH A PROBLEM THAT THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT.YOUR INPUT NO LONGER WILL BE ADDRESSED THANKS

Nick, Khrysler Kid was making reference to the fact you checked the RED X on his post... Which I circled below... He's trying to help, don't go getting offended...

My Bad hit x by mistake

Easy there Nick, the Italian is coming out!

You did nothing wrong. You didn't click on the red x, member "retractable" did. There's the word "list" next to the Thanks, Like, Agree, Disagree icons that you can click on to see who replied. Sometimes someone hits the wrong icon "disagree" by mistake. If they don't reply I'll question them just to see their thoughts. (Clean-up in isle 6!)
