I want to pull my original power steering box and send it for a rebuild. Stock 'no feel' rebuild is just fine with me as Chrysler intended.
I used Steer and Gear 25 years ago and was happy (on a car I no longer own), but recently I have heard that customer service is better at Firm Feel.
So, fire away with your opinions and experiences of these companies.
Thanks!

I've bought two boxes from steer and gear and other parts. They've been great.
I like the box with a little more feel personally.

I am a happy Firm Feel customer. Shipping to WA should be a bit cheaper for you too.

I’ve had the same experience as Don. As I live closer to Columbus, I’ve ordered parts and services from Steer and Gear and picked them up at shows to save on shipping. Something you might have to consider.

I am super happy with my Firm Feel stage 2. Please consider the Stage 2 as it is NOT hard to drive on the street, but instead makes the steering feel great, rather than the sloppy feeling from stock boxes. Note that there are ZERO external visual clues to the changes. The box looks totally stock.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Hawk

I think you will be happy with either choice.

Just posted in another thread about my disappointment with FF not responding to my (4) messages. Since I bought a II box from them ya'd think they would have the gumption to reply to a few questions I had, even just sayin they can't help. Older posts though have said they've been good about this...can't complain about the product it has been great.

Did my manual box with a quicker ratio from Firm Feel. Answered all my calls and were clear with communication, quick turn around time, and rebuilt my original box as per my request in order to keep the car with everything it was born with... they helped me out with shipping too. Highly recommend

I called Steer and Gear. After about 4 minutes of rings it went to voicemail. Left a message as the web site only shows "modern" feel available.
I'll call Firm Feel on Monday.
Thanks for all of the opinions and advice.

The original owner of FF (Dick Ross ) has retired. His son Matt Ross I believe now takes the phone & emails. I'm sure he is still learning the business and all the products/services they offer. Have you tried calling them ? Sometimes snail mail anymore doesn't get checked very often sad but true. I live locally to them so its real easy for me just to go over there even though they discourage it due to their neighbors complaining about the traffic. I have several of their products on my 64 Polara and have had them rebuild my ps pump & steering gear - no complaints. Good luck and as others have said either choice would be a good one.

Just got off the phone with Linda from Steer and Gear. Nice lady and glad to hear I'm a return customer 27 years later.
They are about 1 month behind, so I'll take my time getting mine off and shipped.

Good to know - I saw Dick as owner on their website and a contact of 'Dennis' who I've tried to connect with. Not to hijack this post, but ok guess I am for a minute, I simply have asked for a pdf of the instructions so I can recheck the install as a shop had done this and 2nd, to see if they might have had any customers encountering the problems I have - just in case, that's all, they might have that would be helpful. If not, fine, but the curtesy of letting me know would seem nice. As it is since I've tried connecting with them, I know what's causing the linkage binding and can fix; but would like to know why this happened.
