To make a long story short, I have been having very many problems with my 727... First I broke the front pump while putting the new engine in... So I took it to my trans guy only to find out the park cable is no good.... Ordered a new cable, which came in a few weeks ago and dropped car off this morn. Trans guy calls and says the cable is the SHIFT CABLE.... I ordered it from Atlas Auto, part number 808-170.... I called them and he told me the cable I need is number 808-195..... Looked on 62-65 Mopar site and they say number is 808-198.... I am so pissed right now because the car shows are starting this weekend and they still give me the wrong number cable.... Anyone know which number is right???? 64 Dodge Polara, 318 poly, pushbutton shift.........

I think you need one of these.

Just kidding. Sorry, couldnt help myself.

Edit: (for those who might not know, its a fifty year old chrome box, specifically for pushbutton trans. Note, two shift cables, one for park)

Those love/hate relationships are painful. Get it fixed and maybe you will love it again.

I’ve got a ‘64 pushbutton shift cable in the garage. Don’t need it because I have the console. I’ll dig it out and take photo or two. ...............

aren't the floor shift cables and the dash push button cables different lengths ??

They are pretty close. Easiest way to tell the diff is the gap behind the bullet nose that goes into the tranny. Small gap is pushbutton, big gap is console and ‘65.

Here you go. 46” cable, standard for ‘64 big block, a couple inches longer than the small block...........

Either start a FOR SALE advert or communicate that pricing through Private Conversations - this is not a classified advert section.
