Been cleaning and restoring an automatic console i picked up for my 67 Coronet R/T project. It's looking good but i don't know what kind of nut fastens the door to the hinge. Anyone got a pic and know where i can get some? The little studs that stick out from the bottom of the door don't seem to be threaded.

I believe at least in 70 they're self-threading acorn nuts

They would look like these. I found some on ebay but not sure if the size is correct. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Palnut-Tin...Speed-Nuts-Closed-Top-50-pieces-/184542553293

Did the same and used nuts with a nylon insert
No, you use a machine nut....I can't remember what size die nut to use but one fits exactly on the stud and will cut threads easily. I cant recall but I think the studs are pot metal, you need to be very careful not to snap them. If you have a small set of dies, see which one threads on easily.... Just use the right nut as per threads per inch of the die nut.
I know it worked perfectly for me, use a flat washer under nut and I would not use a lock washer, dont overtighen.

Correct, I used a machine thread die, appropriate threaded nut, but had a nylon insert only at the very top of the nut to eliminate the need for a washer. Worked great.

Thanks for all the answers and pics. Now i know what needs to be done.
