Walmart trying to purchase PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY - PBIR

Sadly if this happens it will be turned into a huge fulfillment warehouse. The track will be gone.

This will be a total screw job to the local Racers. Immokalee is a long haul from WP.
Street racing incidents will skyrocket.
Somebody said that Moroso still owns the track now. I would find it hard to believe that they would sell. Dick Moroso would never have approved.

Moroso may still be involved but it is owned by "a group of local motorsports enthusiasts" according to their website.

Edit: Rob Moroso died in 1990 and his father in 98. The family may still be involved.

Lets hope it gets purchased by a group that wants to keep it open
or not to change it into warehouse space

lost enough raceways already

sounds like the city/county zoning, traffic,
but allegedly a bunch of jobs
& the Sherrif is for it to stay a track
less traffic, less future problems down the road

I'm sure $$$ with play a huge part too...

Locals need to get active to save it...

Old Moroso Raceway

Anyone ever see the movie " Emperor of the North" with Lee Marvin... That was filmed at the town of Cottage Grove Oregon and you could ride this train eastward seeing some beautiful country... There is a Wal Mart where the station used to be..
