It Just won't fire up

Back to basics. Follow my MEF rule. Mechanical, electrical, fuel. Everybody jumps to electrical or fuel, which don't mean diddly-squat unless the reciprocating assembly is functioning properly.

Wow a page and a half of well-intentioned guesses and we don't even know if it turns over but won't fire, or if it doesn't even turn over, or what type of ignition system is actually in there. Now guys are talking about jumped chains lol.
Honestly 149 different things could cause the issue but we need as much information as possible or you could end up rebuilding the motor and then it still won't start. But I wouldn't feel right to just bitch and not offer any suggestions...

So does it crank okay?
If not that narrows it down a bunch. Battery/cables/connections, starter or relay, ignition switch, neutral safety switch.

If it cranks but won't start, then it gets a little more involved.

Is the carburetor actually getting fuel?

Turn the key to run and check for voltage on both sides of the ballast resistor and at coil (+).
You'd like to have 12v on the feed side of the resistor (the one wire side) and 7-10v on the other side, as well as at the coil, but as long as it's close to that it's not the problem...50+ year old wiring's likely to have a little voltage drop.

You answered a question earlier about it being points or electronic ignition with "it's been upgraded"....but from the pictures it sure looks like it's still running breaker points. This makes a big difference in the direction of troubleshooting as well. I had a neighbor sit a Chevelle in his driveway for 3 months because he didn't understand how to test and set points (chevy guy pffft).

If you can verify spark, and fuel, then you can start messing with verifying TDC and the distributor, feeling for compression and all that jazz..that could very well be the problem. I do the other tests first because they're quick and easy.

Although not stated specifically I think he's indicated it turns over.

Really because I didn't see anything of the sort. Just trying to get guys to actually provide some real info for the millionth time. I guess you're just a better mind reader than me....carry on then.

Uh...it has to crank before you find it won't start.

Uh...when it doesn't crank do you say it starts, or won't start?
Bottom line is the OP presented a vague post and everyone started making assumptions, which seems to happen all the time.

I figured it out, it’s simply in the wrong car. Send it too me and I will rectify the situation! :)
Get it in some of that Canadian air and it'll roar to life!:D

Well you can keep "reading between the lines" and playing guessing games. Actually, I think I missed your contribution to the OP's issue? Oh that's right, you've made none. Just jumped in to stir it up a little I guess.
'Hero biscuit' hahahaha that IS a good one though...

I FIXED IT !!!

When it doesn't crank you say it doesn't crank. When you say it doesn't start you don't know that if it doesn't crank.
The question was posed to the OP if it cranks after being told it won't start.
Seems someone is a little pissed because they are a bit embarrassed.
Again, to get an engine to start it must crank first.

you're not going to share what was wrong with it?
Well I took it to the local garage and he is going to get back to me, we did discover the engine wire harness had been eaten almost all the way through, so I am sure that will be part of the problem as well.
