Hello, I joined up a few weeks back and now just getting to say hello.
My car is a 1971 Superbee EL5 butterscotch 383 4 speed which I have owned since 1982. The car has been a 30 year project. It is now time to complete the restoration.
It has just been painted, And I am putting her back together as part's are available(Covid)

The car is complete number matching vehicle so to keep from hurting the original engine I built a 400 with Edelbrock Aluminum heads, Aluminum intake and water pump. Cam is a Comp cam with .564-274 intake and .570-280 exhaust. Topping it off is a FiTech Fuel injection. Exhaust exit thru TTI headers and 3"exhaust. Rear end is a 8&3/4 with 391 gears.

If everything goes right, I'll be driving it this summer again for the first time since 1992. I can't wait to take my 24yr son his first ride in her.

Welcome from Missouri!! We need pictures of this car, like yesterday!!! LOL

Welcome. And I completely agree with keeping the original engine original. And using a transplant for a performance upgrade. But one thing remains? We need pics so to live vicariously thru each other's endeavors? Is it because we are all lowbrow and need pretty pictures? Could be. But never the less. Would love to see your build.

Welcome from Alabama, I'm sure sourcing parts was a issue, but progress is going on.

Welcome from Beefalo, NY. I agree and did the same with my original 16K motor and tranny. They are nice and fresh and warm and won't explode on a stand.

Gonna need to see it.

Belated welcome aboard from NJ and.......................................
