I've been trying to remove this pulley from my alternator and it's not budging. All I've been able to do is to bend the inner pulley a bit. Any suggestions? (It DOES come off, right?)

Go rent a 2 finger puller from your local auto part store. I know O Reilly had mine in stock. They may just take it off for you right on the spot.

Mopar alternator pulley puller. Does p/s units too. Jaws go around the little nub down inside the pulley and the sleeve holds them together as you tighten up the bolt. Various companies make this.

Don't forget the rotor shaft needs to be supported when pressing on the replacement pulley. That requires alternator disassembly.

I apologize to TT from NH if this is a hijacking. I never saw one of these but since I am going to need to pull a p.s. pulley and since it is only 14 bucks, I went ahead and ordered one. Thanks for the info.
That puller works on P/S pullies and single groove alternator pullies but the double groove alternator has the hub recessed and that puller is to bulky to reach down in the recess to grab the hub...

EXCELLENT PIX........the puller shaft pushes or reacts on the alternator shaft. Sort of a especial tool. The alternator must be disassembled to press sheave back on.....an excellent time to replace the front bearing using an SKF or RBC, NTN etc brand # 6203SFF, sealed double shielded pre lubficated, single row ball bearing. Stand the assembly on end (brush end down)and slowly press the sheave on the shaft . The procedure is outlined and depicted in the FSM. DO NOT HEAT THE SHEAVE TO INSTALL.....it's an 0.001"-0.0015" interference fit on the shaft WITHOUT key.

I changed mine from a double to a larger diameter single using one of these. $38 on Amazon or rent it for free at Advance Auto. Yes you have to split both halfs to press it back on.

NO, NOT LIKE THAT. THE PULLEY WILL BEND. I bought the H. Freight kit that grips the center hub. It works well.
