62 Only

New-penny copper... with a beige roof, to carry off the nice interior. I love a two-tone on a 62. I'm sorry I didn't put a white roof on mine when I painted it blue.
Or, as and alternative... red. Red works fine with a tan/brown interior.
Red is a classic 62 color. Just look at the red maxwedges.

I am searching for the program and if I can find it I will pass it on. In the mean time here is a photo of a '62 Fury with tu-tone paint, cordovan color is on the lower part of the car. If it is a little "flat" for your taste you could add some metallic. Keep in mind that a white sealer applied before the final paint color will brighten the color. Alternatively there are various Chrysler Cranberry/Burgundy colors. 1968 Imperial LeBaron comes to mind.

You have no idea how many times I've looked at that car online. The lower color is Luminous Cordovan. As for the top it is Luminous Brown/ Rosewood. Both of those colors are metallic. As a note my steering column and gauge pod are Cordovan...just don't know if I want to look at it on the car. I have thought of doing the car in two tone like you said also.
I was at the mopar Nats 2022. There was a Cordovan 62 there....I saw it driving away from me....never could find it so I could get a good look at it. It may have been the same car..will never know . By theway .. the lighter color of the dash is the Luminous Brown/ Rosewood.

type in 1962 Plymouth Fury images into a google search and you will find 100 or more 1962 Fury cars of all different colors and that might help you out in choosing. Good Luck, Charlie.

In my car it's more of a 318 Poly...nothing Max or Wedge about it , :)
 
With your interior, I would 100% do the colors in post #680.

Or, whatever inexpensive paint that can be close. It doesn't need to be the exact 62 shade.

Sure do like #680!
And get somebody who isn't color blind to help out, lol.

I think I just need the opinion of you guys, That the Cordovan would be OK. Sure wish I would have gotten to see that car at the 2022 Nats, but never could find it...as it drove away. The engine bay is getting painted in May thats for sure .....
 
You've got the cordovan on the inside. How could it not be "okay" on the outside?
And some metallic helps brown be less bland. (And some pearl if it can be squeezed into the budget.)

Since I'm kind of color blind, I've always thought the column was a Burgundy/purplish color.......The wife told me the column was a redish/brown. Her an I have had many many talks about colors....she knows we do not see them the same way ( she trys to understand).....maybe if I paint the car Cordovan I will still see the Burgundy/purplish color .

Maybe the question should be what colors that are not affected by your color blindness would please you, work backwards from there i.e. I see white as white and I would be happy/unhappy with this as a body color. At the end of the day this is about pleasing you and what you are actually seeing and not about what someone else see's. BTW If you like black I think that would be a great color with the interior colors you have.

The colors that keep sticking in my mind are Cordovan w/ Rosewood top...or Rosewood w/white top. Both of these combos were factory options. And both were sold with my interior color. The problem is , I've never seen these colors in person ( just seen them on computer monitor..hard to judge) . Even harder with colorvision issuses. As for Black...my car will never be that straight. ...And the only reason I said White , was so I did not have to make a choice.
IMO there are just too many red,yellow,blue etc cars...looks like a handfull of skittles. Having a 62, let alone a 62 Wagon, I want it to look Classy without looking like it should be parked at the Bingo hall. The kind of car when you walk passed and say WOW Nice car ! And then walk back to see it again. Right now the car is Sandstone Beige .. I thought it was old faded white (color vision thing) Untill I sprayed it with some rattlecan white.
I don't have a problem with popular colors . Just not on this car. I had a red 68 charger, PlumCrazy 64 Dodge A100 pickup...been ther done that....This is my last build. It's got to be right. Even if I'm setting the bar too high for my budget .I was looking at 1969 T5 Bronze Fire metallic. But think it is just " too in your face"...it's fine for 69 muscle car. But might not be good on a 62 wagon.

If you have concerns about panels being straight then lighter obviously is better. Haven't looked but maybe Chrysler, Cadillac or Lincoln or maybe Desoto in the late 50's early 60's may have something that appeals and would period correct. Would probably be a non-metallic. I seem to remember seeing a Desoto Fireflite in a cream/bronze that was outstanding. Let me see if I can find it.
 
I've been looking all over google to fing images of 1962 Cordovan, 1962 Rosewood. . I can find Rosewood/nutmeg. But very few Cordovan . What I was mainly trying to find were cars that were two toned with both colors......The ONLY images of that combo ,, are those of the 62 Fury 413 car in post #680....In fact thats the ONLY image of Cordovan used in a two tone paint combination......Sure wish I could see a car in either of those colors. Going to small mopar show May 4th, but such a small show, not much chance there ( mostly roadrunner/cuda/ A-B-E body group) .
I've been thinking of the switching the colors and using the Lighter Rosewood on the body/ then the darker Cordovan on the roof. Insted of the normal dark on bottom/ light on top. I would still like to use both of those colors. Starting to accept the idea of using those colors.
I had not found those images that you posted above, thanks........The photo of the wagon..thinks it's the same color my car is Sandstone Beige. But my car will need a complete paint job.
