I had to replace practically everything, floors, crossmember, firewall, cowl, UCA mounts, front frame rail, dash, etc.

How did you replace the dash? i mean did you get it recovered? Mine is near perfect... on the plymouths there is a little ridge that sticks out and i hit it with my welding helmet when i was working and put some super fine cracks in it (pic is just dirt, can't see the cracks unless you really look) I'm trying to figure a way to reinforce them to keep it from flaking or getting worse.. thinking of a syringe with resin or something and injecting it in there...

K.. that's awesome that you could do that.. gives me hope if i really screw mine somehow..

Hello guys is here anyone who knows original camshaft specification for 1962 361 HP 4BB from Polara 500 or where I found it ?

1958-1965 Chrysler Corporation "B" and "RB" Wedge V-8s Here I found this informations:

1961-1962 305 HP 361 CID V-8
Dodge Dart D500 and Plymouth “Golden Commando” 305 HP V-8. Overhead valves. Cast iron block. Displacement: 361 cubic inches. Bore and stroke: 4.125 x 3.375 inches. Compression ratio: 10.00:1. Horsepower: 305 @ 4800 RPM. Torque: 395 @ 3000 RPM. Hydraulic Lifters. Camshaft Timing: Intake 268°, Exhaust 268°, Overlap: 48°; Lift: (1961) 0.430″; (1962) 0.444″. Five main bearings.

Carburetor: 1962 Plymouth & Dodge – Carter Four-barrel Model (manual transmission); AFB 3252S (automatic transmission) AFB 3253S; (California) AFB 3257S.

Some informations are correct but other sources including service manual say the compression is 9:1. So I don know if camshaft specification is correct. I am looking for this informatinon long time but it looks like it is something secret. I can not found it. HP specification of engine is only 4BB or any more differences ?

I hope my question is clear. English is not my home language. I am from small country in central Europe and I am only self taught in English. When I went to school there was a communist regime and English was not taught. My Polara 500 1962 is probably only one piece in my country. I bought it from Ernie Rogers which present it on this thread.

Rebuilt my Slant-6 this past summer. 1962 Dodge Dart 330 sedan. Runs great now. Love the pictures of 62' Dodge and Plymouths! I thought I would add some Grandma Car pictures!!

I need some insight on colors to choose. My 62 Fury wagon came as a "TT" paint code , boring Sandstone beige. I needs a complete paint job. My problme is that I'm working with a car that has a nice interior . And the color of the interior is Cocoa code 123. a tanish pearlize type color'. The factory body color options were White, Sandstone,Luminous Brown, Luminous Cordovan with the Cocoa interior.
So I'm trying to come up with a color for body paint , but working within what would look good with the Cocoa interior. I do not have a problem with a color that is not fractory 1962 . But I would like to stay within colors that were used from Chrysler any year would be fine.
So if anyone has any good ideas please let me know. By the way I'm somewhat slightly color blind ..slightly. So you can see my issues choosing paint colors. I'm not going to repaint it the orginal color of Sandstone...not going to happen.

Copper Metallic like the colour seen on 1963 Plymouth Fury. There was one for sale on here the other day.

I've been looking at coppers/bronze. was looking at 1969 T5 Bronze Firemist/ Copper. But think it's kind of a "too much in your face" type of color, but still thinking of it.

I'm really bad about making color choices...bad enough I can't see them correctly, just always been tough to make these kind of decisions..Engine/trans, brakes.wheels etc. no problem...colors????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I have a hard time. I do over think things also . But paint is not cheap !!!!!!!!!!

Obviously white or black would absolutely work. However, in my opinion the cordovan color would be stunning! I believe it was called Redwood Rose and it would be unlikely you would ever see another wagon with this color combo! IIRC there was a wheel manufacturer that had a program that allowed you to see various wheels on different models. In addition you could change the colors on the car. If they didn't have your model in the data base, which in your case is unlikely you could upload a side on photo that would be digitized to allow you to see your application. I am searching for the program and if I can find it I will pass it on. In the mean time here is a photo of a '62 Fury with tu-tone paint, cordovan color is on the lower part of the car. If it is a little "flat" for your taste you could add some metallic. Keep in mind that a white sealer applied before the final paint color will brighten the color. Alternatively there are various Chrysler Cranberry/Burgundy colors. 1968 Imperial LeBaron comes to mind.
