All, a couple first timer questions

1. Wondering if my sway bar bushing retainer brackets are bent or are they supposed to lean?

2. The new strut bar bushings (Moog) are so much taller than the old ones. About 1/2 taller than the inner sleeve. Is that normal? Do the smush down that far over time?

Thanks in advance for any info!
Ross

They are bent.
Yes they will squish down. There may be differences between OEM and aftermarket in appearance.

Thanks I'll try and straighten them.

When the nut is tightened on the strut rod, does it essentially get torqued down to that inner sleeve?

I doubt the amount they are deformed really matters, as long as they both are installed leaning the same way. I personally would leave them be, unless you can see some small interference somewhere.
The taller strut bushings might be hard to install. Are their durometer ratings similar would you guess? I would see little harm in compressing them regardless, other than upping your WR (wheel rate) slightly.

Sounds good - is there an up and down to the front sway bar? I saw something about 68-69 sway bars but not sure the correct orientation for a 70 front sway bar. Maybe it's not possible to install upside down. I've been searching for clear side pictures, but nothing so far.

Does anyone know if there is an up or down to a 70 sway bar? Or have clear pictures from one of the sides

Others likely know better than me, but normally? if it has a center kink in the sway bar, that goes over the small (12"?) sheet metal brace that runs front to rear in that area. others need to confirm.
It however makes no difference in functionality which way the bar is placed, as long as it fits. However tha center kink does reduce slightly the bars rating vs no kink.

Is that for a 70? I don't think it has a center kink as it goes through the K-Frame. The sides seem to have a slight curve.
