As per the title, I'm wondering what, if any modifications or upgrades people have done to relocate the gas pedal from the floor to a hung pedal?

The mechanical principle behind the factory pedal seems a bit convoluted, archaic and prone to misadjustment, and with US 13 feet and seating position the current pedal gets lost under my boot, the heel angle is off and sucks on long journeys, not to mention heel to toe braking is damn near impossible so I'm looking for potential alternatives/ ideas for a more conventional setup before I install my new carpet and have to cut holes for the pedal.

Interested to hear your thoughts

The Monarch hand control system I installed in my GTX addresses the issues you raised. I usually drive with the pedals, but use the hand mechanism on longer trips.

Could be how one may get accustomed to foot positioning on the pedal. I’ve had rides with hung pedals where my foot has slipped down under it, though rarely. Not an issue with floor-mounted. I tend to have my foot angled quite a bit over the pedal, I suppose a natural or relaxed position as the foot far as I know, doesn’t naturally stay straight up.

The stock pedal on my 70 does not have enough throw for my EFI.. I am considering a pedal from Lokar or Control Cables Inc.

Glad you brought this up- my right ankle does not bend very far due to an old injury, I will look into the 71-up pedal setup
