Crazy brake lights on a 64 Polara.

I had the same issue in my '64. I went with the TS102 switch in the link above and it solved the problem.

Thanks. I have one on my list. I need to get ordering here soon.

I got my switch in today. Now I need to find some time to get it put in. Any tips or tricks. When I was at the dealer, the tech beside my service desk would snip some of the old wires at the switch and tie them to the new wires. When you pull the old wires out at the base of the column it would pull the new wires down the column. That was GM though and all the wires were inside the column, no metal cover. Does the 64's have a cover? I haven't been under the dash to see yet.

I got my switch put in today. It replaced the original switch. I am still having the wonky intermittent brake light inop on one side or the other after using the turn signal. The switch is an OER brand and I have heard some of you have had issues with that one. It just doesn't feel quite right like may be it is binding a bit. Just a guess. I put everything back where it came out although I don't have a manual and if someone was in there before parts could be put in wrong. I'm pretty disappointed. It didn't fix my horn either. I'll check that out later.
