This car showed up at our little local show this weekend.
Pretty rare I think,
Lots of docs, had a couple re spray areas but most was original paint.
Born with a 406 4v and 4 speed in 1962.
Tri power and tac added in over time.

I'll add to things we don't want to hear. I have a friend who built a similar combination on a '64 Galaxie, carefully matching gear ratios, cam, and induction. He's driven four of my GTXs, loved all but one. We went to lunch together one day, and switched rides - I drove the Galaxie, and he drove my factory stock four speed GTX. After we downed a round of drinks, we were able to laugh about the fact the GTX, in his words, "was a beautiful ride, but sucked to drive." The Ford had better street manners. I can't speak for a stock Ford, but my buddy really knows how to match components for driveability.

Nice car, no matter who made it.
I like the Holman Moody valve covers too. One of my uncles was a famous Indy car body/chassis builder in the 50s and 60s and our closet was full of Holman Moody hats and jackets...that's old school!

Nice Ford! There is a 1961 Ford Galaxie 500 2-door sedan in my area, in red and white. Its owner has built it with a 460 and a Tremec 5-speed.

I like just about all American classics and muscle. I just choose to spend my money and time on Mopars.

Want to see a really cool Ford ?

I dig the mercury.. not a ford fan but always like the unique ones..

If it wasn't for those cars, the Max Wedge Mopars would have never been built to mop the track up with them! And fuel injected Stingrays too.
