Are those radials or bias plies?Have a vibration around 50+ that keeps happening in neutral.. hoping it's just the back tires out of balance, gonna take them in tomorrow to get rebalanced.. i don't trust the place that did them the first time and et streets are supposedly horrible for balancing... front tires are new and were balanced

That sounds better. Just think, 1 oz. out of balance exerts a force of 8# on the heavy side of the tire. Oftentimes, breaking it down and spinning it 180° and rebalancing can help. I used to spin just the wheels up to see how bad they were. Often times 2+ oz. out of balance all by themselves.Got the tires balanced and my god... it's like 5" of weights on both sides of the rims in the same spot.. just insane.. shoulda took a pic... Hoping that fixes it... If not.. next will be the driveshaft.. Had the shaft made at a local place that's supposed to be really good.. for $600 i hope it's not the issue.

All going in a positive direction.K.. Fuel pump changed.. no more weird engine noises, Alignment better, steering wheel is straight.. slight pull to the right but i think it's the crown in the road it's soo small..
Moved the trans a little to the passenger side which got a header tube off the torsion bar.. what a difference in comfort.. way less noise.
Tire balance seems to have helped a bit.. still a bit of vibration, going to check runout on the driveshaft when i get to it...
sooo.. a bit done tonight![]()

yeah i have some old rock hard 14s that would be good enough to test withIf you have that much weight on the tires you have to spin them 180 degrees to see if the tires are the problem. If they are the problem they must be replaced. You will never get the bad vib out with tires like that. Do you have another set of tires/wheels laying around just to bolt them on and try it out?
Ya give it a shot before you replace that d shaft.yeah i have some old rock hard 14s that would be good enough to test with
yeah.. i just need to get off my butt and do itRead the entire thread this morning. Great Car/Awesome Work. For the drive shaft...jack the rear up, place securely on your best jack stands. Remove the tires...install all lug nuts to keep the drums from leaving. Run to speed and see if the vibration is still there...if yes...take off the drums (don't push on the brakes) and repeat. You could have a drum out of balance. If the vibration is gone after taking the rear tires off...that was your problem. If the vibration is still there after taking off the brake drums. I would agree, the driveshaft needs rebalanced. Just a thought.
