Any time the receiver/drier is exposed to the atmosphere it will absorb water (doing its job) so, replacement is needed. They can only hold so much moisture. Water will freeze and stop refrigerant flow when inside the system.

I wrapped the capillary tube around the suction line in the engine compartment and insulated it.

Would a panel attached to the bottom edge of the dash be acceptable? Like adding a oil/temp combo. Save the cables with the OEM heater box. You are making good progress.

The drier is after the condenser so you are dealing with a liquid which can't be compressed, therefore the pressure sensor will do its job anywhere in that line up to the expansion valve. Just add a tee.

I'm not a fan of the worm screw hose clamps, they do lose clamping pressure with time, although spring loaded worm clamps are available. I like the molded hose for routing to your requirements. I used Dodge Dakota hoses at the engine connections on my setup.

Because of the trans tunnel I had to swap from the 4 A/C outlets to the 3. It has less capacity but the cabin in my 65 is not very big either.

I went with the build your own system. Easy peasy! Note the Gates Power Grip heater hose clamps and the hose springs.
