soo... sitting at work thinking about things and i have a problem that has been bothering me since i put things together.. hitting the brakes on my car the MC moves up and down at least 1/4" not like loosely but still moves without really standing on the brakes.. so.. i thought maybe this is...
Soo.. my brain overthinks everything and makes me nuts.. this is probably fine but with brakes i would rather ask and be safe. I pulled my upper control arms today to put in offset bushings which i should have done when i put them on months ago, but anything worth doing once...
So.. i look at...
Hi guys, i did a search but didn't see the answers.. i am going to remove my perches and redo them and the pinion angle (did them but haven't been happy with how it came out) plus i want to center my rear axle better, it's off a bit..
best place to measure on a 727? i don't know if the pan runs...
So, i decided to go manual and ordered a new 20:1 manual box from PST, it showed up today and on the bench i couldn't move the input shaft by hand, putting on the coupler (bigger diameter) i could turn it but it was very tight til it got near the end of each direction then it loosened up..
I...
Hello, on my '62 recently i was doing something and noticed when i hit the brake pedal the whole MC will flex upwards a bit (like 1/2" if i really press hard) This weekend i was at a guys house who has a 62 he races and he full forced the thing and the MC didn't budge a bit.. Am i missing...
So.. quick question.. i have a '62, pulled the poly and put in a LA 318 but didn't know bout the different water pump that the '62 steering pump mounts to, already got a radiator with the bottom on the passenger side so i was going to make a mount for the '62 pump, i was just curious if it might...
So.. ordered axles last night from drdiff so i can put in my 4.57 sure grip (will have to change those gears eventually but for now it will be fun) And i just want to verify that i need to also get later backing plates? Wasn't sure since i will have green bearings and no need for the end play...
So i finally got my brake system in and the stainless flex lines for the calipers seem pretty long, they came with the pirate jacks kit.. Thing is, i think if they were shorter they wouldn't be able to make the turn to get into the frame mount, they are pretty stiff. They don't kink or get near...
So.. kept searching for which MC to get exactly and kept being told just get a MC for a 67+ B-body.. went to rock auto and the only ones they show (for 67 coronnet) are all the same which is a RayBestos MC36221
which is this one..
Rock of course doesn't say disc or drum in the listing :( So...
Disregard.. found the answer to most of my post.. can't seem to delete it though :(
Still don't know if the single pot pushrod will work in the dual port MC though..
So, bought new drums so i can get my rear end back together (Waiting on 1 seal!) Anyway.. the drums showed up and both have this split in them, i have seen pics of other brands with the same thing.. is this just a processing thing? I haven't worked on any drum brakes in over 20 years but i don't...
So.. i'm pretty sure the answer is no.. but i got my rear end apart today, which was anti-climatic.. no massive fights to get the hubs off or anything. basically i need to replace every single but of brake hardware/drums and the cost will come out close to a disc brake conversion.. But i don't...
Hi guys, was just curious if anyone knows of a place that sells rear u-bolts with the flattened top like stock? All i seem to find is the round ones that seem like they would dig into the axle tube and crush it a bit, am i over-thinking it? Starting to put the rear of the car back together and...
Am just missing shackles for my rear end now, was just curious what years cover '62 rear shackles? Like 62-74? Already bought bushings.. didn't know pretty much every shackle kit comes with bushings.. they will end up laying around forever now.
P.S. my ESPO springs showed up, very nice :) can't...
Emailed ESPO to order new springs this morning but not sure if i want stock or 1" lift, i do like a little but of a stance but my old springs were 60 years old and not sure how much they had sagged, was hoping someone might have a pic or 2 of their car with 1" springs, i just don't want to end...
