I have a 1972 340 engine that I'm in the process of rebuilding and the oil pan is the worse for wear. Does anyone know if the oil pan off a 318 is the same? I think they would be, just want to be sure. I can probably get one fairly reasonable.
I pulled this transmission out of the wife's car this weekend and need a little help with the identification. As far as I have been able to determine, it is a 727 out of an 86 van. It is currently in a '65 Sport Fury that we are restoring, with a 340 engine. The car originally had a 383 with a...
I am in need of a driver's side seat belt retractor and bolt for my 1972 Satellite. My interior is black but a good working retractor of any color would be great. If anyone has one they can part with, please let me know. Thanks!
Anyone know off hand what size nut I need for the steering wheel? While changing out my turn signal switch, I noticed that the treads on mine appear to be worn a bit, so now would be a great time to replace it.
Thanks!
Just got a new project, a 1965 Fury. Any idea where I can find a gas tank? Just did a quick search and it looks like these are kinda hard to find. Thanks!
Got a quick question about front tire size. Will I have any problem running a 235/60/15 on front? I have 8" rims. I think they will be fine just want to be sure.
I am ready to get my project painted (it has some dents, minimal rust, bad body work and a cheap paint job by p.o.). Problem is, I have never done any body work before. When it comes to the mechanical , I have tons of experience. Is this something that I should leave to the pros? I'm not lazy...
I am restoring my tail light bezels and was wondering if someone could tell me what material was originally used to keep the sockets in the bezels. Looks like some sort of glue or epoxy holding them in when I took them out. Thanks!
I overhauled the front end on my Satellite a few months ago and it drives well but it could handle better, especially when cornering. This car is a base model and doesn't have a stabilizer bar. The last Satellite I had 30 years ago was a Sebring and had a stabilizer bar. Seems like I remember it...
I need some advice from the tranny gurus. When I got my '72 Satellite, I had numerous leaks and one of them was the tranny, due to the pan bolts being loose. It was overfilled by the previous PO, so I removed some fluid and after tightening the pan bolts, it is leak free and shifts well. My...
I am going to install a remanufactured compressor and am using the existing epr. I have leak checked the system, flushed the evap, condenser and lines with Proflush and dry nitrogen. Going to install new txv, drier and O-rings. I noticed that the suction line inlet screen appears torn and I was...
I stripped the driver's side retractable seat belt bolt on my '72 Satellite trying to remove it. I've gotten the bolt out and would like some opinions on a replacement. I would rather put a grade 8 hex head instead of the torx back in there. Has anyone else swapped these out? Thanks.
I am getting the front bench seat on my 72 satellite recovered and need some replacement springs for the back of the seat on the drivers side. Anyone know where I may be able to find some or a suitable replacement? Thanks.
Hey guys, I have a question about using 15x8 rims on the front as well as the rear of my '72 Satellite. I wanted to go with 15x6 on the front but the rims are unavailable in that size and the 15x7 also. Using tires 245/60/15 rear and 225/60 15 front. Would the 8's be o.k. for the front?
Thanks
I was thinking about doing the headliner replacement in my '72 and was wondering if anyone knows if the windshield and back glass have to come out. I know it would probably be easier but I sure hate to pull them if I don't need to. Thanks for any help!
