    Cam break-in was almost successful!

The day finally came to fire this thing off! I thought I checked everything over 10 times but it didn't start immediately. Oh, yeah, I forgot to put the coil wire on after checking for spark! Then she started instantly! Wow, I did a few things right! I had filled it with distilled water and it...

Is this exhaust safe to run?

I had these little pipes made up for cam break in on a run stand. I told the guy I wanted mufflers on them but I guess he didn't have any junky ones laying around. Am I at risk of burning up an exhaust valve if I run it like this for 20 minutes? Thanks for any input!

    Rebuilding a breather

So, I have this breather with one one nipple on it that I'd like to use. I have a six barrel with a vent on the center float bowl. I think it should be fine to T a hose from there to the hose that goes from the breather to the air filter base. I have the breather all apart and here is what I got.

    Water pump housing problem

So, I've been scratching my head on this one. I think my housing has been cut where the power steering bracket bolts up. The pictures show that there is a 1/2" gap in the power steering brackets, it is cut at an angle compared to the rest of the holes and it sticks out only 1/4" further than the...

    Here's something to not do.

I thought I'd see if this fitting was threaded into the pump so I could replace it with one for 3/8 fuel line. Nope, just ruins the pump! It was a good move, though! I have the hemi pump on the way! I'm straying from my goal of making the engine look as factory correct as possible. Making it...

I get to install this oil pan twice, yay!

I thought everything was going great 'till I was wiping away extra silicone and this presented itself! WTF!! I almost crossed my fingers and hoped it wouldn't leak but everything came apart and got cleaned up. It's a new oil pan and I thought it would be flat. Wrong! Stupid mistake, several of...

    Reproduction hood pins

I ordered these as a Mopar official licensed product. What a joke! The chrome plates that screw to the hood are basically stickers. I measured them at a whopping 1/64th" thick! No washers, no rubber. I put an original thicker pin in the pic for comparison. I'm sure Mancini has good stuff, but...

    Console woodgrain clips

I'm trying to get these clips off that hold on the woodgrain panels on the console for a '70 GTX. I'd like to cut them off so I don't break a stud. I can't find any reproductions. Does anyone know where to find these? Or a way to get them off? Thanks for any help!!

    Eastwood 2k ceramic chassis black

So, I'm about ready to finish my k-frame and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this product. Eastwood claims it is the best they have yet I've read reviews that it is garbage and to not use it. Any advice out there?

    The Satellite is gone!

So, there was a '70 Satellite at my local salvage yard I have been picking away at. At first, I could get parts off it, then it was off limits. Lately, I was able to get parts off it again. I went out there today to get the vent windows and it was gone! The lady working said they brought in...

    Lower control arms are done!

These things have been kinda hanging over my head like a black cloud and now they are done!! Woo hoo!! Of course, the bushings are a bitch to remove and install. My girlfriend's son welded the stiffening plates on and did an awesome job. I've never used 2 part paint in my garage before. I...

    Hughes or Harland Sharp rockers

So, I made the decision to buy rockers from Hughes. A couple weeks later nothing had shown up and no charge to my card. Rather than call them to see what was up I decided to be a dumbass and ordered some Harland Sharp ones. Those showed up and of course the Hughes ones showed up a couple days...

    Broken motor mount

I was taking this 440 apart to check it out and see if its sellable. I found this broken ear for the motor mount. I'm sure this is a high stress area and I'm not a welder. Does it make this block junk?

    Preserving new tie-rods and ball-joints

So, I'm wondering what you guys have had success with keeping these things looking new. Boeshield, RPM, clear coat? Also, a book I have says to media blast the upper control arm bushings before installing. What is the purpose of that? Thanks for any input!

Who runs 4 drums no booster?

I'm pretty sure this is how I'm going to set my car up mostly because that is how the car was when I got it. And, the engine compartment looks great with no worries of a booster taking up the vacuum! When I first put the car together the brakes worked other than one time when my friend gunned...

    My torsion bar removal tool.

This worked great for me! I drilled a 1" hole in about a foot long 2×4 and a few holes for bolts perpendicular to that and cut the thing in half. Just fasten the thing to the torsion bar and hammer away! Simple, it works and most people would have the materials on hand.
